My favorite thing about Fury in the movie is that underneath all of his duplicitous, manipulative facade, he reveals himself to be a complete idealist. He's developing the Cosmic Cube arsenal to appease his overseers, more than anything else; he's put 100% of his own faith in the idea that there are still heroes in this world who'll rise up and defend it when they're truly needed. Like he says at the end, he has complete faith that the Avengers will return if another major threat arises simply "because we'll need them to." If Marcus Fury, Jr. is gonna be like the movies' Fury, I don't mind his taking over for White Fury at all anymore.

Yep I was pleased to see that movie Fury isn't a complete dbag like the Ultimates character despite being based on him

It wasn't so much that it was this mind blowing experience or nothing. It didn't change the face of cinema or any of that pretentious boos**t. It was just a perfectly made, consistent, film. Every character got their moment. The dialog was great. The action was REALLY great. And more importantly, it didn't peter out at the end like pretty much every other comic book movie ever made. I mean, a whole hour of nonstop, us against the universe action? It was.....it was glorious.

Yeah alot of critics gave it props for just being a all raound solid movie.

All the fanboys who moan need to just remember back to the 90s where if you said one day there would be a big hollywood blockbuster Avengers movie people would of said you were crazy.

I hope the quality of superhero movies continues to rise.

Guillermo Del Toro has said Ridley Scotts Prometheus has probably just killed off his at the mountains of madness movie for good because its are very similar to his movie.

Avengers had character moments as well as action which is something Micheal Bay has yet to master.

I wish it was one of the other Marvel movies that Joss Whedon didn't write getting all of this success. But hey, good for Marvel. I just hope they don't let Whedon near the solo movies.

Why? Whedon is the reason this film is fantastic. He's the one who balanced the characters, he's the one who gave them great dialogue that suited their characters, he's the one who imagined the greatest ever superhero action scenes and put them onto the screen.

It's the ultimate superhero experience. It's one of the best Avengers stories, in any medium, ever. It's like one of Marvels big crossover events in a 2 and a half hour film. But without the mischaracterisation and anti climatic endings of a Bendis or Fraction.

Because I don't like Whedon or his dialogue and I don't think he's funny. I know a lot of people do, that's fine. I'm alright with him sticking with Avengers. I just want to enjoy the solo movies.

It's nothing to do with comedy or one liners.

The dialogue was perfect. Thor and Loki arguing? Banner and Stark talking about their problems? Loki giving Black Widow a total tongue lashing? Cap giving out orders to the Avengers? He just "gets" these characters like no one else does. I can't comprehend how anyone can dislike that dialogue.

"My secret Cap? I'm ALWAYS angry".

Just... oh god it's so good.

So I've heard. I liked the other 5 movies though and I still anticipate Iron Man 3, Thor 2, and Cap 2. Ant-Man as well whenever it may happen.
