I'd love it if the end result of AvX were for the mutant race to be restored but Cyclops to be an outcast for essentially going crazy when they were endangered. That would be interesting. He's alive and fine but on the outs for going too far attempting to protect a race that never really asked him to appoint himself their personal savior.

They should have killed him off in Second Coming and had Cable take his place leading the more militant version of the X-men, leading up to the Schism with Wolverine. Then have him brought back right around now for AvX to help set things right and reunite the two teams. Alot of the stuff done with him would have made a bit more sense from a writing standpoint had it been Cable in that role instead

That would've been cool, especially since they already established the overprotective father bond between Cable and Hope. Fighting the Avengers over their wanting to take her away--for any reason--would've made Cable come off a lot more like a concerned father and less like a crazy person than it's making Cyclops look right now.

Much like Cap, Scott's really only looking psycho in AvX. In UXM he seems fairly reasonable. I'm not thrilled with the way him and Cap have been portrayed in the main series. As far as I'm concerned I'll look past that and take their characterization from their respective main titles isntead of AvX.

Instead Scott will end up dieing at the end of AvX as a crazy person. This makes me sad as I love Cyclops.

While it's off topic, I saw the avengers last night and it was so awesome. It made me badly want Joss Whedon to tackle a proper x-men movie. I couldn't believe just how entertaining and FUN that movie was.

Eh, I liked Singer's movies better, much more subtle director than Whedon imo. Some people have their own idea of what X-Men ( or superhero flicks in general) should be though, and Singer did have his day in the sun. I do give Whedon props for saying Raimi's Spider-Man movies were unmatched though.
![]() Anyway, I just read issue 3 and I thought it was better than the first two I guess. Although some of these character's actions are still questionable, it's feeling a tad bit more ambtious. I just wish they'd make the characters actually have a legit reason to fight each other than "Oh, you don't agree with me... *SMACK*!" I realize it must be getting boring wearing tights, sitting around Avengers tower all day so the most idlest of threats makes you want to lay a can of whoop ass but contol y'all selves. Oh and when are they getting a new artist? |

I think Comics Beat's guess is ridiculous. Shuffling mutantkind into their own separate universe would severely limit the kinds of stories that could be told in either universe, and it would complicate each major character's history to no end.
What would it mean for mutants who are/were part of non-X teams? Artie, Leech, and Franklin are in the FF. Quicksilver is in Avengers Academy. Meggan and Pete Wisdom are mutants in MI-13, not to mention Psylocke's brother is Captain Britain. Beast is in SWORD. X-Factor would have to change into an entirely different comic, and it currently spends most of its time interacting with the non-mutant parts of the Marvel Universe.

Today's New Avengers 26 and Avengers vs X-men #1
BTW, anyone read WaTX? Great issue! Its so funny seeing different characterizations in different books. Scott shows up at Wolverine's school all rational wanting to talk leader to leader (like Cap in #1) but Wolverine sics Krakoa on him, takes out his claws and is ready to attack without even hearing him out. Thank god for Emma punching him in the face. Speaking of which, she's such a word that rhymes with witch in the issue....LOL. Loved it though especially her banter with Kitty. Magik and Quentin were kinda cute. I never really saw her romantically with anyone but they could be fun. LMAO when Bobby says she used to be such a cute little kid. I liked Rachel saying she controlled the Phoenix on earth longer than anyone else has and wants to help Hope do the same. Love that she, Bobby and Angel left to join up with Scott. Speaking of Angel, this was his best issue post-death in UXF. How ironic that he and Genesis are friends considering the long twisted history of the two characters whom they came from |

But seriously if this doesn't end up having anything to do with Jean and the big picture of the Phoenix and instead is about some ginger broad we've never heard of, I'm gonna be f**king pissed.

And that's such a shame. It's one of the best books Marvel books out each month and the only good AvsX title being released. With the exception of Uncanny X-men, which was just alright, New X-Men is the only AvsX issues I've liked... line-wide.

Did I miss something and Bendis somehow learned how to write an Avengers comic, or do you just have drastically differing tastes from me and a few others?
