Ya know who could portray Lex better than just about anyone? Someone who could be believably classy, intelligent, vicious, arrogant, and villainous. He can be everything Lex traditionally is. Well, except white.

Agreed. People can say they don't like him for Lex because of his race. I disagree with using that as a reason not to cast him, but I understand it. But, to call him a bad actor is ridiculous.

Ejiofor is straight up THEE man (stellar actor) I recently casted a Nolanized Metal Gear Solid adaptation and I could think of no one else (other than Idris Elba) to play Drebin. The guy has incredible range.

Sorry Majik, but you're dead wrong on this topic. And anything dealing with The Bourne Series (Bourne Ultimatum outclasses Quantum of Solace via landslide).

Chiwetel Ejiofor as Lex.......no......I have only seen him in Serenity and from that....no way would he be good as Lex. As for the race card, all I'll say is that whenever a comic book character is changed in movies/tv shows its never a good thing, the only exception to that based on what I have seen is Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury (yes I know the Ultimate's Fury is black, but the original is not).

Can anyone actually name one other race switch that actually worked?....I actually do want to know cause like I said Jackson is the only acceptation I got, would be nice if there were more.

Off the top of my head the ones that just didnt work.....

Will Smith as Jim West
Michael Clarke Duncan as King Pin
Kristin Kreuk as Lana Lang
Sam Jones III as Pete Ross
Frank Langella as Perry White (HUGE shocker to me since I think the guy is awesome)
Jessica Alba as Sue Storm
Beyonce as Wonder Woman (never happened but was rumored but OMG that was a train wreck waiting to happen)
Halle Berry as Catwoman would be on the list, however she did not play Selena Kyle, there for she doesn't count as its a totally different character....still sucked but for a different reason lol

Oh the guy from THOR...Heimdall or whatever, he was decent (he was hardly there and didnt do all that much), still waiting on Laurence Fishburne as Perry White (plz be good lol).

Bottom line....stick with the basics cause when you screw with the character like that, chances are your gonna mess up...badly..

Duncan was fine as Kingpin, and Alba was fine in the first FF movie(they made her alien-esque in the 2nd).

Besides, black actors dont make as good cold and snobby villans as white actors imo. Black actors just arent creepy enough, which I guess is a compliment.
A black actor for Lex would just have too much groove and not enough cold unemotional distance. I cant explain it better.

It's probably just me, but I really dont think I've seen a black actor coming of convincingly as cold, distant, snobby, aristocratic. Which I think is needed for Lex. I just cant imagine any black actor with that kinda creep-factor.

Bad example maybe, but imagine a black actor playing someone like Lucius Malfoy who has some of Lex' features.

But of course, that could depend on how Lex is portrayed.

Also, there's already a black Perry. A black Lex might feel a little forced.
