Yes there are kids, but what age are we talking? I know many parents, myself included, who have not allowed my children to watch TDK, yet.

But a weed reference more edgy and less kid-friendly than TDK climax with a man with his face burnt pointing a gun against a child and that music in the background?

Yeah, the weed reference would likely fly over the head of a 5 year old. A gun being pointed at a little kid in the movie? Even a 5 year old would understand that one.

I don't know how many parents took their kids to see TDK and then commented at the office: Hey man, I saw TDK , great movie for bringing your kids!

Granted, I'm not the type who thinks kids should be prevented from watching these movies. My parents took me to see the likes of B89, T2, and Batman Returns when I was very young. I was only 3.5 when they took me to see B89. I'll be forever grateful to them for not sheltering me from those movies at that age.

I'm the same way. I saw all those movies, plus RoboCop when I was quite young...didn't affect me one bit.
Although, I did accidentally see the scene in Darkman where Neeson gets his fingers cut off with a cigar clipper when I was about 3...that kinda ****ed me up a bit.

This is the only one I regretted my parents taking me to see at a young age:

The Avengers will probably get more money, at least $400 million.
With Dark Knight Rises, I think it will get less than $350 million.

Avengers is headed for $600+ million and TDKR is likely to make $400-450m.

Quite honestly no movie ever quite hit me like Transformers: The Movie (1986). When I first saw Optimus Prime die it was like a piece of me died. Harvey Dent is just some blonde, pretty boy, politician; but Optimus Prime in the 1980s was like what Jesus could be like if he just tried a little harder. That guy wasn't supposed to die, he was invinicible, and, without any warning whatsoever Hasbro just offs him like a punk. That took balls. |

There's a true IMAX screen down in Atlantic City, and I'm only like an hour and a half away...but I know I won care enough to drive all the where there to see it.
I'll catch it on the fake IMAX screen a half hour away.

Well it's obvious that I was wrong and that The Avengers is going to win the box office battle both domestically and internationally.

There's no point promoting these special cinemas if most people can't go to them. Get it? So if Avengers gets more money because there are more 3D available cinemas, that's simply a bonus for them.
IMAX, whopee do da.

Well, I'm sorry the major studios don't have you in particular in mind when they decide on their special screenings.
For me, I have like 5 IMAX theaters within an hour and a half of me, so I don't really give a ****.

I hate fake IMAX. I love going to Lincoln Square, since it's the only real IMAX theater in the NYC area.

Then you must really hate regular sized screens.

They don't scam me out of my money like fake IMAX does. There's a fake IMAX on Times Square that charges just as much.

A fake IMAX screen is exactly what it is; a screen larger than most standard screens, but smaller than a true IMAX screen.
If that's not what you want, then you have your full IMAX screen there's nothing to hate.

But once again, it's not a true IMAX and I'm paying the same price for it as if I was paying for a true IMAX.
But like you said, it's not my worry, so yeah. ![]() Back on subject, I find it funny that there are so many "Avengers vs. TDKR" debates breaking out in every thread except for the correct thread.
