Another Joe Kelly interview. Nothing really too new, but sounds like that test footage wasnt live action but cgi. Could be different but would make sense with Tim Miller directing.
http://www.thegeekasylum.net/2012/05...-man-myth.html

Quote:
HT: “So, Deadpool was essentially the cornerstone of your career. How did you feel about Ryan Reynolds being cast for that roll?”

JK: “He was a huge Deadpool fan for a really long time, actually. Someone had interviewed him when he was in Blade, I guess, and someone wrote to me and said ‘Ryan Reynolds is a huge Deadpool fan. He’s been lobbying to be him. I think he pulled it off for sure. I spoke to the people that did Wolverine and they know they did a huge misstep with Deadpool in that movie, so if the Deadpool movie comes to be… Ryan Reynolds would be attached to it.”

HT: “Is there a Deadpool movie in development?”

JK: “Yeah - it’s scripted.”

HT: “Do you know who’s going to be directing it?”

JK: “Not a clue, but it’s written by the guys who wrote Zombieland, so it should be really good. I really hope [the directors] do it. They also did a test for the CG animation. They know this is a really big risk. They know that this is going to be a PG-13, maybe R-rated movie, you can’t exactly make it family friendly.”

Yeah this ****ing sucks. Hopefully at SDCC some info will updated. If they are too scared to make an R rated flick I hope they at the least can admit that.

Think there's a lot of traffic on the game website, loads slow as s**t.

who do you guy think SHOULD direct a deapool movie? back when zombieland came out I was a big supporter for Reuben Fleischer, especially since the zombieland writers wrote the deapool script.

If he wasnt doing Ant Man I would say Edgar Wright and after Watching Kick Ass I thought Matthew Vaughn but thats never gonna happen either. Ruben Fleischer would have been cool. Robert Rodriguez, Joe Carnish or Joe Carnahan are all decent with comedy and action. Maybe Patrick Lussier (Drive Angry).

I wonder if Tim Miller is still attached. They really need to update.

The game looks terrible and of course Daniel Way wrote for it, ugh. But I suppose Deadpool how I like 'im is not well suited for a video game anyway.

**** Daniel Way wrote it?

That explains the multiple voice boxes.

That does remind me though, Way is leaving the Deadpool comic.

Curious to see who'll replace him.

I remember reading Ways first take on Deadpool and actually really liking it. But man the series just changed Wade too much. His Evil Deadpool ended up being closer to normal Deadpool. Wade turned into a sensitive goofball instead of a dangerous **** talker. Not all his run is bad imo, I dug the Dead arc recently. But that book def needs some new blood.

Besides the Multiple Voice boxes which can get old quick, I think the game looks awesome.

So if the game is successful do you think a likelihood of a movie would increase? Sure is awesome to finally see a Deadpool game!

It can't hurt. Tho the movie industry tends to generally stereotype and despise the game market so I don't really think it will have that much of an impact.

The only way I see it becoming relevant to Hollywood is if the game pulls a Arkham Asylum and shoots up to Game of the Year contender / best seller...

This has to be the best CBM ever that will never see the light of day. I read the screenplay 2 years ago and I was blown away by it. So much genius, so much PURE Deadpool. FOX has such a good script in their hands, and they dont even have to put so much money in it. This film really could work with a 60 Million Dollar Budget. R-Rated obviously.

I dont understand why they dont give it a try. It really has good potential to become a cult film.

Also, I am sick of FOX coming up with the excuse that they have to wait for Reynolds, that they have to wait until it fits in Reynolds shedule. This is ******** ! If Reynolds really would ve want to do it, we would already have this movie. Its just not important to Reynolds.

Hell, I dont even understand why everyone is sticking to Reynolds so much anyway. I mean, what has he done that he is supported so much by the Comic-Community? He was in two god awful comic films, and he is not even THAT good as an actor.

I say if Reynolds cant get off his lazy butt just RECAST the role !!! Pool is wearing a costume in 95% of the movie anyway. There are really other actors out there who could deliever a great Deadpool.

FOX really has a sleeping masterpiece in their hands. They are really dumb not to use it.

I dont think Fox realizes Deadpools following at all or why people like the character. If they did the character wouldnt have seen that bs take in origins. They just dont get it and are scared no one will show up. This film will def hit hard with the younger generation regardless of its R rating. Every kid in school is gonna wanna see this. The fact that the characters popular enough to bring a solo Video Game should give them a hint. At least someone is taking a risk, Video games arent cheap to make nowadays either.

Well FOX made the Chronicle movie and the movie didn't really have a big budget. With a budget of at least $40 million. They could easily make a Deadpool movie.
