There is another version of Robin's origin in the first story there that's pretty solid also that I think would translated to a movie just fine. Plus some great painted artwork.

I've mentioned before I hate Loeb's way of stating the obvious.
"Carmine the Roman Falcone, the untouchable crime lord's penthouse." Yeah, I think we figured that out by now. Even Miller is more subtle in his writing. Yep, I said it. He never has to outright name every character or setting whenever they appear. He parodies this in All-Star (Dick Grayson, age 12).

What's the difference between the normal and absolute version?
And when was the absolute version released?

The absolute edition is a library Atlas sized book with special features (like a two-disc DVD).

It was released April 7, 2007. I'm not sure what it exactly includes, but it has a bunch of extra stuff, deleted material, the Nolan/Goyer intro and other stuff. The normal version just has the graphic novel and that is it.

Thank you. My normal version is a bit ragged. I think I may pick this up.

Why is Batman jumping out of a big, blue vag? EDIT: I opted for rory_bat's more philologically-correct "vag" in lieu of my original rendering of "vaj". Props to Rory, as per usual. Last edited by sad lieutenant; 08-13-2007 at 04:41 PM. Reason: Philological concession |

Thank you for copying this for us. Very nice of you Sir!. I'm very glad that about the comments that TDK will be heavily influenced by TLH. Well I was sure it would be a influence, but good that its a "heavy" influence Regarding the DKR and TLH, well not going to start this again. I like both works a lot. DKR wins by a bit becouse it just was such a "WOW!!!!" experience the first time I read it, Loeb/Sale's stuff is wonderful, and I'm just happy that quality Batman work like Millers Y1 and Loebs TLH influence the filmmakers. |

Hello everybody,
I'm new to this forum, and I know that this thread is quite old by now, but if anyone has got the Absolute Edition of The Long Halloween - could you please write me the page numbers of Nolan's introduction? (If any page numbers are given.) Currently, I am writing a research paper about The Dark Knight and would like to quote from the introduction, but my older edition of The Long Halloween doesn't have it. Thanks a lot in advance! Best, Robert |

Introduction - A Converstation with Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer it's called, it's spread on two pages and there aren't any page numbers given.
