Here is the way I look at weed

The states tax it = $$$$$$$
Not sending petty criminals to jail saves $$$$$$$$$

If you regulate the hell out of it you can make it so:

-a person can only grow a certain amount of plants(say 25-100) and you can create tons of new farming jobs(basically keep big business out of the loop)

-keep the places that sell it to be non profit(again this keeps the places small and also creates tons of new jobs)

You forget that people make a fortune keeping those people incarcerated. Not to mention policing.

True, you could make money off of legalizing it, but the people making money now wouldn't make any then.

Who cares about the companies making millions(nothing would be nicer to see them lose on their investment of people going to jail, especially since they lobby for laws to make business good for them).

As for the jail guards, take some money you save on jailing people and invest it in firefighters, teachers and police officers(from my understanding every person that is jailed cost the state roughly 50k. That means for every 2 people not in jail, the state can reinvest it into 1 job and have money to spare). Of the 3 jobs I listed jail guards can qualify for 2 of them.

The legislatures won't change the laws, there's too much money involved, without huge demand from the people forcing them to do so.

But the people won't do that because they've been made too scared and think imprisoning everyone is the only way to be safe.

So it's going to require an end-round with something like legalization of weed. Which will cut into demand for prisons (since far fewer people will be confined), and start disrupting the system.

Ron Paul is ending active campaigning for his candidacy for the GOP nomination. He will still be securing delegates for the convention in Tampa though.

Now comes hard battle to get Paul supporters to back Johnson. On paper most should back Johnson...but most may be stubborn and write Paul in--doesn't count as a vote--or stay home.

Libertarian Nominee Gary Johnson is left. If you are independent or a rare registered Libertarian(like I am), you can vote for him in November.

Hopefully Ron Paul runs for the third party ticket as another option to the Democratic and GOP tickets. If not for him, then I will choose Gary Johnson instead.

Paul won't as doing so would severely jeopardize his son's political future.

Basically when something that is taboo becomes non-taboo, its value drops. Regardless of how good it makes you feel.

You've been misled. Dr. Paul is just ending his advertisement bid, since it's more prudent to focus on delegates and commenting on recent events. He's letting the momentum snowball him from here popularity-wise. And it's a smart move.

The BS media are, of course, performing their usual spin to try their damnedest to trick people into giving up on Paul. Educate yourselves, watch closely, keep everyone informed. They're playing dirty, so we need to be that much louder.

Out of curiosity, why is there this huge media conspiracy against Ron Paul, in your opinion? The media is owned and operated by massive corporations. Ron Paul wants to let these corporations operate with virtually no oversight or regulation. Why exactly would they oppose that candidate?

It's a curious thing. But probably because they don't think he has any chance of winning. Ironically they're making sure of that. The media usually picks who it wants to win, and sticks with them. They want to control the narrative.

The thing is, they don't. The media is ratings driven. Nothing more. There isn't some evil conspiracy against Ron Paul to deprive people who would otherwise vote for him of the information that they need. We live in the information age. Ron Paul is a household name. Everyone knows who he is. They just don't care. He is a racist old coot who follows up every good idea he has with a bad one. The media doesn't cover him because no one cares about him. It is really that simple.

The why is just a guess, but it is observably happening.

My first guess would probably be war. The media is part of the war machine. The more angst we're involved in militarily, the more people are concerned, the more they tune into the news, the more money the media rakes in.

Paul is the only candidate who properly and immediately wants to end the current wars (if you choose to call them wars), so the media would have far less drama to profit off of after the elections are over.

They'd have to play the race card even more than they are now to stir people up, and (hopefully) everyone would get fed up with that quickly.

False. Case in point of the above.

Here's a sampling of his 'racism', if you care to actually investigate the good doctor:

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

Funny how a racist old coot has spent 30 years fighting for true fairness and freedom for minorities, while Obama (who is half black himself) has done more and more damage to them via pushing the racist, useless drug war (which he, during his campaign, sought to ease up on), and by deliberately letting drug cartels trample Arizona.

I can clarify on that statement, if necessary.

I am open to hearing which ideas you think are bad.

He seems to be pretty popular considering a nation of people don't care about him.

It's ratings.

Paul brings none to the table because no one cares about him. So the media doesn't care about him.

Perot and Nader stirred **** up. The people wanted to know about them, and the media fed that need.

Ron Paul is just...there. He's stable. Even boring. That's why, even when they got smaller numbers, Santorum and Gingrich received more media play. They were the train wrecks you couldn't stop looking at.

Because Paul is also against the government funded corporate welfare system. The Daily Show really is the best example of how the media unfairly portrayed Paul.
