The movie is a great film but not-so-great adaption. Go for The Talisman and Black House. They're a couple of my favorites along with TDT (all 8) plus IT. Also, read IT.

The movie is a loose adaption. It has the setting and most of the characters, but it downplays a lot of the supernatural stuff in favor of just having Jack be a psychopath. And Wendy isn't much of a character in the movie.

The tv miniseries is a spot-on adaption, but it's understandably tame.

The Shining is a fantastic book.

The Shining is probably my favorite book of King's even though I love the whole Dark Tower series more. It really is amazing. The movie is great in a much different way. Not a very true adaptation beyond the basic themes and story, but a great way to render it into the film world. I actually loved Danny in the book. In the movie I really never minded that he was in danger, he was mainly just weird and annoying.

Under the Dome is a good read. When I got it for the Christmas of 2009 I couldn't put it down when I started reading it. I'l give it a second read when I'm done with Insomnia.

I owns the Stand but its not the uncut version I havent started it yet im kinda imtimidated by it and im wondering should I just buy the uncut version of the book? The one I own I bought for basicaly nothing so I wont feel bad not reading in favor of the uncut one.

Also Wind through the keyhole is number 1 on the New York times best seller list and 11/22/63 is also still on there.

I would get the uncut version. And don't be intimidated by it because once you start it you'll be sucked in. I read the book in three days it was so freakin' awesome.

It's extra cool because Dr.Doom inspired Darth Vader, King knows his pop culture alright.

Dr. Sleep sounds awesome, though I'm still desperate for news on the Third book in the Talisman series.

Eek, were those released in the States...at all?

Just finished TWTTK. The first part, "The Skin Man, Part I" felt like a natural continuation of Wizard and Glass, whereas the tale within that one, "The Wind Through the Key Hole" felt like the last 3 novels. This one also confirmed that Flagg and Maerlyn

are two different entities. Maerlyn appears to be an agent of the White, or is neutral at least. He had no love for Flagg or the Crimson King. Also, the lion Beam Guardian is named Aslan.

This book made me wish King would do a Hearts in Atlantis styled anthology about Walter whatwashislastname, Marten Broadcloak, Flagg, and Walter O'Dim. Separate stories about each facet of the Ageless Stranger that are interconnected.

I don't know if those have been released in US, but I'm living in Sweden and these pictures are showing the Swedish editions of the books.

Esquire has announced it is to publish a new story collaboration by Joe Hill and Stephen as part of its launch of an e-book series called "Fiction for Men." "In the Tall Grass" will be published in two parts, the first to appear in the June/July issue and the conclusion in the August issue. The works will be available only in the print and iPad editions of the magazine.

A new novel by Stephen King, Joyland, is to be published by Titan Books imprint Hard Case Crime in June 2013.

The book will be released as a paperback first, with e-book to follow at a later date. King said: "I loved the paperbacks I grew up with as a kid, and for that reason, we're going to hold off on e-publishing this one for the time being. Joyland will be coming out in paperback, and folks who want to read it will have to buy the actual book."

The title, set in a small-town North Carolina amusement park in 1973, tells the story of the summer in which college student Devin Jones comes to work as a carny and confronts the legacy of a vicious murder, the fate of a dying child, and the ways both will change his life forever.

Hard Case Crime editor Charles Ardai bought world rights in the title, with King's novel The Colorado Kid previously released under the imprint. The deal does not affect King's relationship with his usual UK publisher, Hodder.

Ardai said: "Joyland is a breathtaking, beautiful, heartbreaking book. It's a whodunit, it's a carny novel, it's a story about growing up and growing old, and about those who don't get to do either because death comes for them before their time.

"Even the most hardboiled readers will find themselves moved. When I finished it, I sent a note saying: 'Goddamn it, Steve, you made me cry.'"
