I think Court of Owls might be lasting too long. My interest is waning.

Surprise Surprise, Red Hood & the Outlaws #9 becomes the outstanding best title of the "Night of the Owls" crossover, utilizing the event to showcase and develope the three main characters, from Roy Harper's genius tactical mind when it comes to utilizing weaponry and especially the parallels between the Talons and Red Hood, with the issue ending as a grand middle finger towards Batman, sweet.
The art was fantastic, Starfire was hilarious as usual, and it was just simply great to see Jason in Gotham city, really loved the way they used Talon simply didn't obey blindly the Court's orders to the very end, after all, why should he?

How many of its tie-ins are you reading? I'm only reading Batman and the pacing seems fine to me.

Yeah, I think the pacing is solid in Batman. It feels like we've just passed the first big bump on the roller coaster, and it's all downhill from here.
The tie ins seem like a take it or leave it kind of thing. I haven't read a lot of them yet, but the Nightwing one seems to be the only one with actual story or character ramifications. The rest all are all just quick little spotlights on whatever character stars in them. Which is cool too, as books like Red Hood are only good because of the good character interaction anyway.

I'll definitely be interested to see what Williams has planned for the character and what might happen next with her and Kate

Actually, I feel the same way about Swamp Thing and Animal Man. Both Court of Owls and the Rot story seemed to start out strong, but are just dragging on for too long. Nothing really important has happened for the last few issues of Swamp Thing or Animal Man. I think they'll read better in one sitting though, instead of waiting month by month. And maybe I'm too used to the recent comic book trend of 5 or 6 issue stories.

I actually agree with you about Swamp Thing. I feel like Snyder's lost a lot of steam with the book recently.

I think Swamp Thing and Animal Man are hurt by not having consistent artists, too. The fill in people aren't as good as Paquette or Foreman.

I've consistently enjoyed Animal Man, myself.
There's just a bizarre creepiness to it that keeps the issues entertaining for me.

I've been enjoying both. Swamp Thing and Animal Man have both had pretty good pacing, as far as I'm concerned. ST has been dealing with the transformation of Abby, which is sort of a huge deal for Alec (although admittedly somewhat less convincing when you consider that he's not the being she actually fell in love with). AM has been about Buddy looking for ways to spare his daughter from shouldering the incredible burden the Red wants to put on her.

But Alec has those feelings and memories of her, so what's the difference? Same thing when ST was originally formed. He has Holland's memories and personality. What makes him not the original? It's like the old boat analogy.

From Alec's perspective, none, I suppose. (Although he was separated enough from the Swamp Thing's thoughts and feelings to reject the Parliament of Trees over and over again.) From Abby's? Kind of a lot. Even if you accept that Alec and the Swamp Thing were, at their beginning, exactly the same being, their divergent experiences after that beginning makes them different people. Alec is not and never was Abby's husband.

I agree on Abby. It would've been cool to see her stay evil and the whole Arcane family start wreaking havoc.

Abby being a villain in the new Swamp Thing series could have been really interesting its a shame that that plotline didn't really last very long
I'm looking forward to Anton showing up soon though

So the new issue of Dark Knight looks good enough, despite the fact that its a Night of Owls tie-in.
After this issue we get the new writer, with him the book will basically become the best of the current Bat books

I think I might buy the Winick issue just for the chance of possibly reading a good comic with Tim Drake in it again.

It's a sad day when you have to say Judd Winick will be writing the best Tim Drake story around.

Crap, I forgot Tim was taking over for that issue. I'll probably end up getting it, even though I hear Tim, like many of his rebooted comrades, is a pale imitation of his former greatness.

Honestly, of the 2 issues of Teen Titans I read, Tim wasn't that bad.
AND that was Lobdell writing him. In the hands if someone competent, he might even actually be somewhat good again.
