i'd still make sure you research some more modern stuff.. after all the movie (even yours to actually get pitched) needs a mix of both modern and older

while true the timeframe of my script will be before he becomes king...while still in modern times. The story I am pitching is how he becomes king and how the world learns about atlantis

have you also kept in mind the fact that SHIELD currently knows about Atlantis and it's where-abouts? (but no one else seems to)

Wow, 20 posts later, and nobody has told me how they think the Atlantians would be able to talk to each other in water? I get it that everyone thinks they should be able to speak english on land to humans in air, but how about to each other in water. Here are some thoughts

1) Telepathicaly (do-able)
2) With dolphin like sounds (and subtitles) (better)
3) Talking with their mouths while air bubbles come out (silly)

They can talk with their mouths open with no bubbles coming out.

I did respond to it. They should speak in clicks and whistles. While underwater they should speak normally(and we pretend its clicks and whistles but since people don't want to read too much just have them speak) but when they speak to surface dwellers they'll sound like clicks and whistles

Here's how Prince Namor came by cameod into an Avengers movie.

Some villin has wreeked havoc on a city and fought against the Avenger to a stalemate, but then retreats into the water. Iron Man wants to chase after him, But Cap tells him "Wait! I know some who can help us - he fought along side me and the Allies years ago in WW2. I hope he's still around..............

Lets try not to break the laws of physics here, if we don't have to

Because Namor acted reluctantly in WW2, and didn't want to be bothered again after the peace treaty was signed (which he witnessed by poking his head out of the water to see the Japanese surrender)
Cap didn't want to call on him unless he was really needed (and Marvel didn't want to start seting up the Defenders yet - one group at a time)

I wasn't trying to write a treatment here, just a story idea, More stylized dialog can be used

I think they can introduce Namor in the WW2 era still, just after Cap America goes missing/frozen.

i don't know, as much as i'd love to see Namor/Torch/Cap era of golden age heroes.. I think it's harder to fit in to the films than it is important. They could put a nod to it however i suppose, by having him take down a WWII submarine or something.

it just seems conflicting to have him fight with the surface world, then hate it, then sorta defend it again in the film series..

reluctant or not they were on the brink of annihilation in Avengers...it should have been all hands on deck. If Cap had someone he could call to help he would have.

while its cool in the comics for Namor to be hero-villian-hero-villian you can't build a movie franchise on a character like that

He should just be a dickish arrogant hero but likeable in a way. Sorta like merging Tony and Thor together. His only villainess should be his first encounter with the heroes and the surface. But we see it from his side of things so we sympathize with him

And he should never be a "villain" hating the surface doesn't mean he needs to become a villain

Namor should come off like House. He's arrogant and a douche, you don't like his methods but you know somewhere in there he's trying to do good

Namor needs a dark haired Chris Hemsworth. Unknown actor with strong build, commanding voice, and good acting.

I kind of see Ian Somerhalder in the role, but I'd say my top choice at the moment would be Luke Goss. I know he's usually in more make-up heavy roles, but he has such a charismatic presence about him.
