I have read only one book from Yann Martel so far but I'm planning to read Life of Pi next.
I'm glad that Ang Lee will direct this because M. Night Shyamalan was attached to direct this at one point. The only thing I'm not so sure about is filming this in 3D. I don't really think 3D is necessary for a movie that is going to take place largely on a boat. |

Love Lee. It's good to see him reunite with Maguire.

Yeah, it's nice to see him reunite with Lee despite his short role.

First Look
![]() http://blog.criterioncast.com/post/2...ilm-life-of-pi Finally we got an update on this film. I'm relieved that the CGI of Richard Parker doesn't look that noticeable. I hope it won't be long until we get a trailer. |

^ Very interesting image. It almost looks like Ang is really playing up the allegorical and dreamlike nature of the book, rather than going for harsh realism.

That footage description sounds incredible, I hope they hurry up and release a trailer already. I have complete faith in Ang Lee.

I wonder if this may end up being Ang Lee's best film.

Maybe some great visuals from Lee will actually make the story interesting.

The description sounds very impressive, despite other directors (some very good ones) have tried to adapt the book, I think it's great that Lee's the one to tackle the book.

20th Century Fox Moves Life of Pi Up to November 21st
![]() By moving the film to that date, Fox is giving the movie some breathing room and a chance to stand out. So I think it was a good call on Fox's part. |

The first trailer for Life of Pi has been classified and it's nearly 3-minutes long. It will premiere in front of Prometheus.

Oh, well, I guess I will just have to see Prometheus then.
