I'm still disappointed about the teeth, but could he really speak clearly with a mouth full of sharp teeth anyway?

I'm actually fine with the teeth. Lizards don't seem to have big, long, sharp teeth. And even without them, he probably still has a very strong bite. We should probably be lucky that he has any at all.

lol That is true. Connor should've used salamander DNA. So unreelistic

But my point was not about realism, I just don't understand how a longer snout is gonna improve the design and make him look scarier when real life lizards have it and they still look pretty lame.

Tails, but that's pretty much it. If we'd be realistic, he'd study Salamanders, as they can regenerate pretty much everything I believe. But Connors is called the Lizard after all, so...

Ok, everyone who wanted the snout, listen up!

I'm not saying that the lizard couldn't work with a snout, that could work even really well, but as many said before, he wouldn't talk at all then. Still, he would have potential being the mindless savage beast right? Yes, he would. But, could he hold up as the main villain if he only was a mindless beast?

I'm really curious, how could've he worked as a mindless beast? I'm not being sarcastic and I'm making fun of no one, I just really want to know if you have any ideas on that, cause I can't think of anything

The lack of snout isn't because him having a snout wouldn't allow him to speak. It's simply an artistic choice. The film makers wanted him to have a more humanoid face. That's it.

As someone else said on some other thread, a mindless, more beastly Lizard would work in a Kraven's Last Hunt adaptation, but if you're making him a supervillain with a master plan... you have to give him some human features, or taking him seriously is going to be difficult.

It's funny because I can't stop thinking of Draco from Dragonheart... and of how goofy he looked when he talked. lol

it's funny you say this because a while ago there was a looong discussion and debate on this, but it was proven that if he did in fact have a snout he would not be able to pronounce certain syllables because of the shape of the mouth and the jaw line and it would just not look right if he was able to talk with a snout.

Marc I recall has said in an interview that the flat face was also to do with his ability to talk as well as show emotion to keep that 'humanity' connection to the audience.

He's morphed into the Lizard, yes, but he's still part man and I like the fact that he retains parts of his human side.

At first I was displeased with the Lizard's design. However, I actually think he looks really cool. I can't picture a Lizard on screen with a long snout, it would look strange and he wouldn't really be able to talk properly. He does have the lab coat for a portion of the film at least, which does make me really happy, and I understand why he has to lose it at some point within the movie. Naturally it is going to tear off completely in the midst of battle. Lizard looks awesome.

Green Goblin is definitely going to be in the next movie, no doubt about it. "Did you tell the boy about his father?" That is Norman Osborn, at least I think so.

I think it would be cool if he has different sizes of transformation in the film and that in the beggining he is much more humanoid but maybe later on he transforms into the more modern looking Lizard, as the DNA gets to his system more.

Who knows, maybe he does get the long snout at the end of the film? It could be a huge reveal or something that is supposed to surprise us?

In the comics, did they ever explain why he suddenly had a long snout, or was the design just changed without any reasoning?

I haven't had any real complaints against the Lizard's appearance in this film (other than shoddy CGI), but the most recent head-on picture of him looking at the camera is just laughable. Not only does it look completely computerized, but the "smiling" expression and eyes make him look like some ridiculous creature from Land of the Lost.

Like I said sometime before, I'll be surprised if Lizard is on the screen for more than 20 minutes. It's not like we'll see him for 2 hours. There's many other plots in the movie.
We can take a mindless savage beast on that time and they can make him look great, like he was in SSM.

Are we even sure that Lizard is really going to talk in this movie? If he does, it might even not be too much, anyway.

Connors will probably transform into the Lizard twice in the movie, so I imagine he will get about a half hour of screen time, give or take. The movie is a little longer than 2 hours.

The lizard will be both intelligent and able to speak. Both Marc and Rhys confirmed it.

I'm guessing three transformations at the very least.

I don't think there will be three transformations, based on everything we've seen. Where would it fit? They said that Spider-Man primarily fights thugs and other criminals throughout most of the film.

We know he transforms once in the movie when he first takes the formula. I'm assuming he will go around the city and attack, or do some kind of damage that makes the headlines. Spider-Man may or may not confront Lizard here. This is before he tells Peter "a new species has been discovered in the city. It can be aggressive if threatened."

For the second transformation, the SWAT team discovers the Lizard in his lab coat on the ground, who then attacks them all. I'm assuming this is for the final battle. This may be before or after Connors says "if you want the truth Peter, come and get it." That line could also be for a separate third transformation.

He transforms at least twice.

Yeah, that is probably the most realistic. However I still have a feeling he might transform only once for the end... I hope not...
