Daniel Day Lewis would be phenomenal. I imagine he could ignite this role.

Daneil Day Lewis and Johnny Depp wouldn't be good fits. Day Lewis wouldn't do the role and Depp would be too expensive.

He is not a new or fresh look at all. He's been seen so much in Quantum Leap, Star Trek Enterprise and recently Chuck. If anything, he's rather an old and stale choice.
