There is no DCU version of Alan Scott. This is the only version of Alan Scott, and he's gay.....and that pisses some people off.

So basically the point is that whether a version of Alan Scott still existed that was straight. Certain people want their characters not to be changed in any way that they deem desirable.

If that's not the literal "having your cake.." I don't know what is.

But there is still a sense with fans, that the ultimate U is not the real one.....that's why they created it....so that they could screw around and exaggerate characters all they wanted.

With Alan Scott, there is no original version to still enjoy! They erased 70 years of heroic history for an agenda. Create an original hero if you just gotta do something like this! But leave the classics alone!

Statistically LESS people are born gay than born straight -- it's always been like that, and always will be. So people saying things like "gay is the modern way of life" like this (an ignorant statement), or others who have said "I want to see MUCH MUCH MUCH MORE" gay characters in comics, they are living in a dream, and sound a little out of touch with the world, not being able to be happy unless every character has been "modernized" and turned gay or into another minority.

It doesnt matter to me whether its 'realistic' for there to be lots of lgbt characters in comic books

I want there to be as many lgbt characters as their possibly can be. They're the kind of charqcters I actually care about and want to read about

I'm not saying there should be no straight characters. But i don't remotely care about them

Its the lgbt characters in comic books that i care about and i want dc to continue to introduce many many more of them. That's what makes me happy and thats the only thing that matters to me.

There's no such thing as having too many lgbt characters and I want many many more in the DCU

I'm happy that DC are continuing to introduce new lgbt characters and i hope they continue to introduce lots more. As a lesbian comic book fan those are the characters i actually want to read about
