It sounds like it'd make perfect backstory for your current story, though. Gyrich would have pretty solid reason to be paranoid of the remaining Skrulls on Earth if Secret Invasion were a still-recent memory.

Yeah, it does, on the one hand. On the other hand, Secret Invasion pretty much did a number on the threat level of the Skrulls. As I recall, they were taken out pretty decisively.

I'll probably roll with what you're saying though.

Yeah, so everyone normal thinks the threat is over. Gyrich's paranoid ass, on the other hand, would definitely not take Captain America's word that Hulkling or anyone else is not a threat. He might not be able to do anything about it, but he'd totally keep an eye on known Skrulls still hanging around.

And there are always more Skrulls. Remember, the majority of Skrull society was supposedly taken out in the Annihilation War, yet there seemed to be plenty of the religious cultists left to invade Earth under Veranke.

"Unthinkable" didn't happen, Marquis of Death stuff didn't happen, and I guess Hickman's stuff hasn't happened since Doom would have to be trapped in between dimensions (might have to consult Saved on that last one).

I tried to keep a majority of the stuff from the last 5 years out just so it didn't step on anyone else's toes. From what Harl and Corp were talking about, it appears it's infact, included. Either way, I'm fine with it. It doesn't affect me.

Speaking of which, I apologize for my absence. I've been busy with work and personal issues. If I don't get a chance to post in the next few days I will post by Monday and hopefully get things going.

I could try to adhere less to continuity if it's an issue. I just thought the point of the RPG was to pick up the characters where the comics left off and do our own thing.

Apparently, it's been the experience in Marvel RPG's that leaving off with current Marvel continuity kills the RPG prematurely. That's why we called this 10 Years Marvel where it's 10 years since the origin (leaving origin stories optional so we aren't bogged down with solo arcs), everyone is able to pick and chose what they want to have happened to their characters, and everyone can get to the action.

I definently feel like events like Civil War, Secret Invasion, and maybe even Dark Reign to an extent add too much strain to prospective talent. But, personally, I don't care and I think we could all work around it. That said, I do whatever possible to not force people to accept things from which they may be turned off.

Hmm, I guess I could change my earlier post to not include the Skrull invasion. It was only a minor reference anyway. All the other continuity I've included is pretty limited to just the Black Knight and shouldn't affect other people's stuff.

Syn's right. The premise of the RPG was to avoid strict continuity. We didn't want to tell people, "No, you have to play Brand New Day Spider-Man," or, "No, you have to observe Civil War Iron Man." What we're aiming for here is to capture the "essence" of these characters. If you start from Year 0, you can't have Venom because there's been no Symbiote Saga, as an example. This way, you can jump right in and have all your supporting characters/villains introduced.
