According to this site you've got the Indiana State Museum. Don't know how far it is in relation to you.

Well, decided I'd go to a regular theater for the midnight showing. But I did order Imax tickets for the evening of the 20th. I didn't see TDK in Imax, did it get annoying when it switched back and fourth from the regular lens to the Imax lens? Or is it not very noticable?

It actually added to the movie experience because you knew that when the screen filled that you were about to see something exciting and you started feeling tense. Also the transitions away from IMAX were very unoticable because it usually happened after an intense action filled scene, so you were sort still gathering yourself while the screen shrunk back down (which btw still looks awesome just not 3 story tall awesome). The transitions TO the IMAX format were noticable as they usually happened after several scenes of build up, and then BOOM, an establishing shot of Gotham as the screen fills up...... cue heart rate.

Good, good. I'm stoked for it. Sucks we still have about 5 weeks left.

I'm already on it. Just bought a giant industrial sized freezer. I'm gonna sleep in it tonight and see if I can wake up on July 19th. It's not exactly "based on the laws of science" per say, but I figure... what the heck? What's the worst that can happen?

I'm just seeing it in digital for the midnight screening and then seeing it in Imax another day. The closest imax theater is way too far away from me to go to a midnight screening on a night before I have to work the next day.

For just a digital screening, wouldn't you say that arriving an hour ahead of time would be fine enough?

For a midnight screening? Definitely not, people are gonna be lining up at least 3-5 hours ahead of time. Some even earlier.

Remember, they'll be letting people into the theater as soon as they can, so depending on when their last regular show was in that auditorium, they may have already let people in an hour in advance, and you'd be screwed out of a good seat. I'd imagine you'll only be safe being there at least 3 hours ahead of time.

Ah reserved seating, I love you

I also bought two tickets to see it on August 2nd at the BFI again, this time with their premium seats.

I'm not somebody that's picky about seats though. As long as it's not front row I don't really care.

Long thread. It's probably already been covered, but I'm curious as to what you're experiences have been with TDK. I'm trying to decide between very inconvienient real IMAX in downtown DC or in Columbia, MD which is a liemax, but much closer to home. When you consider 45 minute travel time and potential cost of parking, is it worth it? Midnight show is out but this would be Sat night. Just curious.

Yes, it's worth it. I'm flying across an entire state to see it in real IMAX. I did it before for TDK and still think it's worth the trip. Granted, my parents and sister live there so it's always good to visit them.

^I'm driving from St. Louis to Chicago. St. Louis only has 70mm in the Omnimax and I don't care to see the film on a dome. I'm seeing it on saturday the 21st though not the midnight show. Needless to say I'm going into a media black out on the 20th which won't be too hard as I'll be driving a good 4 and half hours that evening.

Btw TDK score is super fun to drive to.

Anyone know if the free posters they will give out for the IMAX marathon will be a small poster of this? I already got that one from the tumbler tour so I'm hoping it will be something new.

Hey dude! Im in the same situation
I live about 40 minutes south of DC and i have THREE liemax theaters around me but there is just no way in hell I would miss watching it downtown at the Johnson IMAX theater in DC.

I have no idea how much crap ill have to pay for, but itll be worth it.

Where in the world in Chicago are you seeing it then? I haven't seen a film at the Omnimax in forever but I'm sure it looks fantastic on it. I think I remember seeing Spider-Man 2 at some Omnimax theater in Branson, I could be wrong though...

Though I will agree TDK score is fantastic to drive to. I love it so much!

I'm gonna see TDKR twice on opening day in Liemax(because it's right around the corner). Then on Saturday I'll go with some friends to see it on the real IMAX screen in King of Prussia. I'm too old for midnight shows and marathons!

There are only two theaters in Illinois playing the film in 1570 the Cinemark in Woodridge (right outside Chicago) and the Navy Pier Imax.

I'm going to the Cinemark.

You sure there aren't any other 15/70 IMAX screens in St. Louis? The IMAX website lists one called Ronnies 20 Cine & IMAX that is supposedly 15/70. Check it out:

http://www.imax.com/extras/news/tix-...-knight-rises/

Notice how it has a single asterisk (indicating 15/70) next to it? Is that a mistake?

I figured at least three hours. My friends give me grief with an hour. And some of them want to go with me. When I have to tell them three hours they might go . Ah, **** em. I got my ticket and I'll be doing that so that's all I care about right now. I want a good seat. It'll be the same numbered theater that I saw TDK opening day so that's fitting.

I will not go to my local LieMax to see this. I saw Inception there and they pump the sound so freaking loud that it hurt! My ears were ringing after the movie ended for like an hour. I'm going to a regular theater.

Okay, on the IMAX website it says my theater is 15/70 but when I call they said it's digital. And I remember from a friend working at the theater he said they were making it digital.
