Well you have to hand it to the Lieutenant. He's fearless.

Is he like one of those characters that the protagonists just have to beat down upon because they can't do that to Amon just yet.

I dunno. Maybe Amon hired him for his organizational skills?

But seriously, jumping towards a big-ass Polar bear-Dog with paws that could take your head off in single swipe. Pretty ballsy.

We need more Naga moments, Pabu has been stealing most of the moments so far. It was the other way around with Appa and Momo.

If anyone is suffering the least character development in the show, its definitely Naga. Appa had so much character and back that an episode without him felt pretty empty.

We can't say the same with Naga sadly.

The new clips look good. More Nana always excites me. Half the time I wonder where she is because I was expecting her to be around just as much as Appa.

I can't believe the season is almost over. Do you think Korra will airbend before or after she goes into the Avatar state? I hope before.... I'd like her to learn it on her through Tenzin and hard work rather then just tapping into the other Avatar's knowledge and 'knowing' it.

Tapping into the Avatar state does not mean she automatically knows how to bend air. It'll probably be given to her as a defense mechanism and go away as soon as she leaves the state.

Yea I know she won't keep the ability. I'd just rather it not be her first time on screen. With Aang he didn't have a Water teacher yet so I can understand the need to show what he was capable of when taught as a kind of hook to the show.

With Korra she has spent an entire season trying to learn how to airbend with a master, and if the first time we get to see her do it is while not actually her just won't feel right to me.

You know I think it's disappointing, considering this season WAS called Air, we only see Korra train in Air only a couple times in the beginning.

She'd probably be completely zen and cheerful like regular Aang. Just as Aang's Avatar state was fiery and aggressive like regular Roku and Roku's Avatar state was stern and decisive like regular Kyoshi.

Regular Roku was fiery and aggressive?

Roku and Kyoshi were both fully realized Avatars when we saw them use the Avatar State, so they had complete control over it. Aang's undisciplined Avatar State was basically just him Hulking out.

For some reason I feel like Korra's Avatar State would be so fierce she would seem almost malevolent. I mean she's already very passionate and a super charge of emotion is bound to push her over the edge. However if this happened, it would just be helping Amon's cause.

I have to agree. This season is called AIR but they've only made Air the focus a few times. They would have to give Air primary focus in these last 3 episodes to make up for it, I think. But we all know there is absolutely no time to do that now. They could have focused more on Air and have it replace this irrelevant love story they have going on.

Unless season 2 will also be called Air, then I won't mind it at all. Even better, I say. I mean, we already have a living, breathing Airbender but he is vastly underused (in combat anyway).

I'm just re-watching TLA Book 1: Water and there isn't much training there either and a quick review on wikipedia only shows 2 episodes deal with it out of 20. At least LOK has referred to training throughout 'off stage' and we've seen brief moments too.

That's exactly what I was thinking too. Aang didn't really do a whole lot of firebending in Book 3, until the end, either.

Also, there is a new clip from episode 10 out now.

I think it's pretty clear most if not all the character flaws(and flaws in general for that matter) of the show are due to season length. Unfortunately a necessary evil

So I am new to posting in this thread and am sure that this topic has already been beaten to death....But I was wondering on the speculation of who Amon may be? Any thoughts?

Also, how is everyone liking the new series format, of being turn of the century rather than old/ancient Asia like LAB? I for one like it, but am curious if there is anyone that wishes the show had remained in the era of LAB.

Also, to comment on topics earlier, I think the Naga will have more development later on, but won't come close to Appa. Appa didn't have that much development starting off did he? I thought he grew as time went on. Plus, Appa was considered the last of his kind and had a pretty significant personality that added to the show, especially for an animal. Also, his relationship with Momo was significant enough to center an episode arc over it. I don't think we will see the same from Naga and that fire-ferrit lol.

The reason Appa was featured and developed so much was because the TLA had the GAang travelling around the world and Appa was their main form of transportation. As such, he had to be featured as part of the group for most of the time - leading to plenty of opportunities to develop him.

Meanwhile, Naga is the complete opposite. As Korra's story remains within one (relatively) small geographic location, Korra and her Krew don't need to travel from place to place. On top of that, Naga is too small to carry all of them at once and there are other faster, more efficient modes of transport (namely, cars) - leading to the show not needing to rely on Naga to get them from place to place. Ergo, less screentime and fewer opportunities for development.

I agree. The animals in this series don't/probably won't have the same development as they do not serve the same purpose or have been shown to have personalities like Appa and Momo did.
