It probably won't even be released in the UK... they usually aren't. At least never at retail level.
Bloody, bugger and arse aren't swear words over here though, right?

Not proper swear words, but they're still words that little kids will get in trouble for saying.

Can you get movie services like VUDU, Cinema Now, Zune, PSN, or Amazon.com? You could purchase it from them and watch it online.

I was quite stunned when Chester said wanker. Not that I can't handle swears, it's just I didn't expect that kind of swearing in a DC Animated movie.

Best Superman animated film, it makes you think and shows why Superman is still relevant in our so cynical world.

You know, animation style aside, I think this may be up there as one of my favorite animated films that DC has made. I expected next to nothing before seeing it, and after watching it, I absolutely loved it.

I liked it as well. It was definitely a nice change of pace. Where the bad guys did not know Supermans weakness & he was forced to go all out. Great animated movie

I wouldn't mind an adaptation of this being Man of Steel 2. Save Brainiac for part 3 or something.

Ironically saying the f and s words over here are just as bad as that, yet over in the UK it's not as frowned upon.

I liked it. It went places no (animated) DC movie has gone before. The cartoony style really contrasted with the serious subject matter.
The movie actually made you empathize with Clark. The older hero who people take for granted. The way they dealt with the "no kill" policy was refreshing. Though, why none of the villains got executed by the state isn't explored. Superman's argument makes sense. He's not the jury. Okay... so why do the jury never sentence these repeat murderers to death? Don't blame Superman, blame the jury or prosecutor. Definitely one of the better DC animated movies. |

So I just watched Superman vs The Elite. I recently had a Superman streak, I have been watching old films, and I was eager to see this story. I thought it was great, if a little longer. It was in some ways, Superman at his best. I think everyone who think Superman is a dull and irrelevant character should watch this film.
I think sometimes it gets just a little preachy, but it touches some very relevant issues about morality, taking the hard way and doing the best we can. I think the best thing about Superman is how he handles things, he struggles to do things right, and he does it right. Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
Edit: I loved the intro credits, just had to mention it

Phenomenal movie - initially I thought this looked like a pile of rubbish. It is far from that, it's very deep in story compared to other DCAU movies. Not to say I didn't have any gripes with it, the positives in this far out weigh'd the negatives.

Just watched it today. I enjoyed it despite not being overly fond of the Family Guy/American Dad style character design on Superman (would have preferred the Crisis on 2 Earths/Doom/Young Justice design). Voice acting was good all around, with George Newbern hitting it out of the ball park as Superman with what may be his best performance yet as the character. This is the kind of plot that Superman Returns should have had rather than boring "baby daddy" melodrama.

I am so amped for this movie... but before I buy it I wanted to ask you guys: how bloody does it get? I remember I passed on Batman: Under the Red Hood because Jason Todd splattered someone's face on the side of the wall. So before I get SVTE, I gotta' ask: is there anything comparable, and how gory/bloody does it get, if at all?

It is the most violent Superman film so far and has some foul language. I love the fact that these DCU animated films are aimed at older audiences.

What I did find odd is that no other heroes showed up. At all. They even allude to them.
