Yep, some strange, strange people have decided to 100% move forward with the sequel to the train-wreck that was Stephen Sommers’ GI JOE, which we have reported on before, but it’s definitely happening.
Just in case you are not caught up, Stephen Sommers has been replaced with Jon Chu, who is joined by the returning cast of Channing Tatum (Duke), Ray Park (Snake Eyes), the Korean superstar, Lee Byung-hun (Storm Shadow) and a new cast member… Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. The wrestler turned actor will be the popular cartoon/toy character, Roadblock. The film has also official been titled GI JOE: COBRA STRIKES. FYI , Commander was exactly the way he should be in real life, " mess with me and ill ___k YOU UP ! !" because you never saw how far he was willing to go until he played his hand ( presidential position/brainwashing cardboard-actiin Miller) .. just look at him in THE A-TEAM ...er . . i mean RENEGADES.  hopefully the script will be written by someone who KNOWS how to write ... IE : CASINO ROYALE . |

I hate that most of the cast are in the sequel
G.I Joe wasn't that bad compare to Wolverine/Transformers 2

The pros: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as Roadblock, RZA as Blind Master and Jessica from Supernatural as Lady Jaye.
The cons: The director. Seriously, Chu could REALLY destroy the series and it was already mediocre because of Rise of Cobra. But, on a writing standpoint, I say they begin the movie with a bang as in killing off the characters that won't return. I say in the beginning of the film, a helicopter is on its way to land on the USS Flagg carrying Duke and Snake Eyes after a mission but what they don't know is that someone has entered the ship to release Cobra Commander and Destro and during that, destroys the ship(much like the destruction of Flagg in Resolute) and it kills Heavy Duty and Breaker, who were working on/upgrading the weapons, Ripcord and Scarlett who were about to leave themselves to go on their own mission and everyone thinks the explosion killed Duke and Snake Eyes as well, but Duke will be captured by the Commander, Destro and the one who destroyed the ship while saving those two(I wish it were Major Bludd). Snake Eyes then goes off to find Jinx while General Hawk, along with others(maybe bring back Stone and a newcomer...Falcon?) they decide to recruit while also dealing with Roadblock who's pissed as hell that his cousin is now dead. That could be a nice story of how Lady Jaye and Flint enter the film as well with them being new recruits, and then along the way, they find Cross-Country and whoever they decide to use in this film. And I wouldn't mind if Barronness dies as well.

Isn't Tunnel Rat supposed to be Asian?
Levitt won't be in the movie and from the looks of things nor will Sienna Miller or Christopher Eccleston. Cobra Commander on the other hand, who knows.

Probably, JGL was miscast in the first place. Bad enough his name was Rex and he was ex-military.

Not surprised to see JGL not returning, the roles he is getting now he probably thinks himself beyond stuff like this, and who could blame him.
This movie doesnt sound as bad as it did a little while ago, but i'd still be surprised if it was any good, but who knows, I was surprised by how much the 1st one entertained me, maybe this will be the same. Glad that Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow are back though as they were easily the best part of the first movie.

I hope they dont completely ignore the first movie, I know they are using some of the same characters but there were some pretty important story elements from the first movie that shouldnt be ignored. The Baroness and CC should at least be mentioned.
