Very interesting article. Marvel can't be unaware of how much fans hate USM, no matter how Quesada and Loeb try to lie about it. Now they're locked in to the Hulk show, which looks to be another flustercluck. Seriously, who couldn't tell that from the title alone? It's unsurprising that they might consider seeding the crowd at SDCC with plants who will praise USM. They're gonna need backup.


The bit about USM's ratings was enlightening. Apparently, a lot of people initially watched the show, but later most of them bailed. There are still somewhat more viewers for the timeslot than there were previously, but still not a lot. That ratings collapse says a lot about the public reception of the show. (And there still hasn't been a link posted to the ratings figures in this thread.)

If it takes awful Spidey and Hulk cartoons tanking to get good Avengers and X-Men cartoons that are in continuity with each other, then it was well worth it

And it means that, finally, Scarlet Witch might be seen outside the comic books without being neutered one way or the other

What are USM's rating like? I checked the top 100 Cable sows on tvbythenumbers.com and USM didn't make the list. Nothing on Disney XD or any other Disney channel broke into the top 100, BTW.

All i know is that what that dude said was later confirmed by marvel. I do not know who agentx is since i do not run marvel tv.

Bleeding cool are paid by marvel or some crap. The only thing i did was telling Joe Quesada and loeb that Ultimate Spider-man sux, which i think it does.

Holy crap. I watched all the 90s Marvel shows and I don't remember that at all. Seeing the image of Cap and the Avengers makes me wish they'd included a real Avengers show in all that ("United They Stand" came after the glory days, so the closest we ever got was Force Works).

I THINK the block back then was for Iron Man and the FF...

I stuck with SM and XMen (and Batman from DC) in the 90s, I have since seen the iron man and FF stuff many times and I'm okay in saying, I am fine with not having watched it in my younger years when it first came out.

in all fairness, though both shows were immensely horrendous during their first seasons, the new animations and stories VASTLY improved in the second season...

and in the FF cartoon, I liked the adaptations of the old Kirby FF issues, but the running storyline in IM with the green-skinned Mandarin searching for his rings and his annoyingly pissant kissass lackey, MODOK, didn't grab me at all...

I'll give you that, though the second season of the 90's FF I'd rather take over that utter disgrace of that FF cartoon a few years ago...

now to ME, THAT was crappy...
