Birds of prey kinda started to get good towards the end, iirc.

I got the feeling a second season would have brought bats/cats into play, which would have been good.

Yep. A Mountain Dew commercial during Nascar.

Dina Meyer? Yeah, she was really great as Oracle.

And imo, Smallville got bad by season 7. Seasons 1-6 were really good, imo.

Good point. It's just that I wonder how much force the government will use. I'm sure they'd do everything in their power to crush Bane. Of course, Bane does have the Doomsday machine and maybe more. I wonder how much air power the military will be using. I imagine they can just use overwhelming air power to pound everything.

I'm not sure what happens but I think somehow the military must hit some sort of blockade and are somehow forced back off the bridge, at least that bridge doesn't seem to get blown up and I doubt they reach the island.

@ggghhh - I see. Well, I wonder how Bane will fend off their overwhelming air support. I know there'll be some anti-air stuff - oh well, guess I answered my own question

Not if Bane uses an EMP to keep em grounded or at arms length!

I think Bane will be using the Wayne/Batman tech in his arsenal which may be just sightly more advanced than the government in this instance maybe, or rather more than what they were prepared for.

During Nascar the announcer says The Batmobile has come to life as Dave Earnhardt Jr. takes the lead.

LOL

Good point (again ). Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. I think I can rest easy now - this government interference thing was worrying me. I'm not a fan of making the military look and act stupid in order to make Bane more of a threat.

I had a theory on the Civil War thread about how Bane's got a dead-man's switch on a nuclear bomb, so after the initial standoff the US Army decides to lay siege to Gotham, starving it of food and, rather importantly, ammunition. Bane and his men end up having to pick their shots, which ultimately falls into Bane's plan.

I figure Bane doesn't so much want to make Gotham the start of a new empire as much as he wants to ensure the city collapses into murder and violence before detonating the nuke when he leaves the island to finish the job. He's just prolonging the inevitable in his opinion to make a point about his power.

I think ultimately it must be down to Bane's deterrent. Sure Wayne Industries developed Anti Air tumblers for some reason, but they'd run out of ammo soon enough against fleets of planes and helicopters.

Thanks.

I'm sure I've seen another advert similar to that, many years ago, can't remember what it was.

Yup, sounds good. And it could be the army blowing the rest of the bridges as part of that.

I thought you said "detergent" for a second there Anyway, yeah, that's what I was worrying about. I guess it is up to the deterrent. Hopefully, this will cement Bane's reputation as a master strategist.
