When I grew up reading Bat-Man comics the word Bat and Man were always separated on the covers so I always wrote the name the same way I saw it on the covers as 2 separate words. Same with Spider-Man. Last edited by Brawl; 06-11-2012 at 10:07 PM. |

I was being sardonic. No need to defend yourself with pictorial evidence.

Wasn't "Bat-Man" the way it was spelled in his first appearance(s)?

Yes, but it was changed to just Batman in the early 1940s, and that's what the copyright is for the character as well.
So yes, anyone who started reading Batman in 1939-1940 is excused from my judgements.

As for the topic, not that this means anything, but I thought I would mention...
When Avengers came out, my local theatre had 6 of its 24 screens showing it. They're going to have 13 of their 24 screens showing TDKR opening night.

I'd argue the Avengers was better, but they were both awesome.

Rises. But I didn't like Avengers so that was obvious.

Can we please lock this thread? I mean really this is only going to turn into an all-out bait/flame war.
People who like the Avengers better will say it was better those who like TDKR will say that and nobody's minds will be changed over the next 100 pages. |

While it may have been "safer" and "more conventional," The Avengers was far more consistent in overall quality than TDKR was (in my honest opinion). I had no trouble racing to see The Avengers five times in theaters, whereas I am struggling to bring myself to seeing TDKR even a second time.

I agree with you guys (Boom,JMC) that The Avengers is a movie that is easier to go and watch more than once I saw it more times than I care to mention but im acutally looking forward to seeing TDKR again.

Well I'm going to take the opposite position the sheer fact that TDKR has so much going on in it i feel it almost necessitates a second viewing just to get things into full perspectives. There's a lot of minute details that can be missed and better enjoyed a second time i feel.
I saw the film midnite Thursday and i've been counting down the time untill i watch it again saturday evening. The film's are too sides of the same coin one lighter one darker both enjoyable though. |

There are a lot of films out there that greatly benefit from second views. TDKR is a very intense film simply being in not the best state of mind while watching it can affect your experience, as you said may be your case.
As for how well put together the film is? most critics enjoyed it and just from social media responses going around it seems most people are coming away enjoying it as well. No movie will appeal to everyone though. |

The Avengers. Because I had more fun watching the movie and the cast is better.
