The Official Super Smash Bros. Thread

This is a thread for all things Smash Bros. Loved the games since the first one came out. I got it for my birthday. I rocked as Mario, but my sister was a Pikachu user. She spammed the hell out of Thunder.

Anyway, with the new Wii U I'm not hyped, but intrigued to see where the franchise will go from Brawl. I was not entirely enamoured with the game. I got tired of it after a couple of months. So I hope the next game will be better.

I also love that Sakurai is interested in bringing some Capcom characters in the next game.

Since it will be a long time before we hear anymore about the next Smash Bros. game, I thought some people would find this interesting.

It's a fan game called Super Smash Flash 2. I like it, but I'm not really liking the addition of anime characters or the lag and long loading times.

So I finally decide to play Brawl online last night. I heard bad things about the online play and never got around to it. When I tried it out it was just utter crap. There was insane lag and barely anybody online. It took over thirty minutes before getting an opponent. I hope they fix this for the next game.

Most of my memories of the N64 game are my friends and I making the Pokeballs the only item in the battles and having them drop at a frequent rate. The Gamecube version was super sweet simply for having the most badass Pokemon of them all, Mewtwo.

Which reminds me, who are they going to get to represent the new Pokemon games. I like Lucario, but wasn't too fond of him replacing Mewtwo. I guess they can update the Pokemon Trainer to the B/W trainers. Hell, I like it if you could just costume change to the boy/girl of every generation.

I actually sat down and played Brawl for the first time in a long time yesterday and today. I hadn't gotten around to unlocking all the characters so I went ahead and did that. Also got to play with a couple friends. They had a hard time focusing on all the chaos on-screen, but I loved it. Can't wait to find out the roster for the next Smash Bros game. What I'd really love (but I know won't happen) is for Banjo from Banjo Kazooie to be playable. I think Rare is owned by Microsoft now so they probably won't let the character appear, but a guy can dream, right?

I just read an article that said a new one is in development for the WiiU and I think maybe the 3DS as well. A new Smash Bros makes the WiiU a must buy for me.

I think it's pretty obvious that Pac-Man will be included in the next Super Smash Bros. game now. Here's to hoping that they keep Sonic and include Mega Man in the mix.

Maybe even include some characters from Tekken or Soul Caliber too.

Because he's probably Namco's most well known character.

I'm hoping that Mr. Driller and Repede from Tales of Vesperia make it in.

Because Namco-Bandai is involved with the development and it's pretty much a guarantee that they will include at least one character from their games in the next Smash Bros. Pac-Man is their main mascot, and he fits in the game series very well the way Sonic did. They did it when they made Mario Kart Arcade where they included the Pac-Man characters in it.

Oh man, I can already see his Final Smash now: Everybody turns into blue ghost versions of themselves and Pac-Man runs around gobbling them up for massive damage. That's assuming those are still in. (I kind of hope they aren't)

Same. Either they worked way, way too well or they just didn't work at all. I always enjoyed playing without the final smash turned on.

This might be a dumb question, but what's up with the Skyward Sword stage in the second video?
