It would've been nice if they just kept the whole suit flat black like it is, then just make the bat symbol gloss black so it could stand out better and reflect light as well. |

No, it's the traditional pentagon. Perhaps he's talking about the font for the S; that's a bit different (though you can trace similar versions back to the early 40s).

When I first saw the MoS
I was on the fence about it.Now it's grown on me and I love it. BTW, how pissed do you think people would be if we were getting the Fleischer instead?

The pentagon does not bother me but the font/shape of the S is the problem for me, looks like the George Reeves style S shape and I was never a fan of that show, I know people older than me in the 50s probably loved his portrayal of Superman. However myself I see him as a "grandpa" looking Superman, just does not come across as the Superman for me. Granted it was the 50s so I can see how that generation grew up on him. I do think his Superman look would be perfect for like a Kingdom Come Superman, George Reeves would have been perfect for that role. BTW I also think the hair style of Cavill is like George Reeves Superman too, he is missing the Split Curl, which is my favorite look.

Of course, unlike some people, I am completely capable of coming to an understanding about it and even growing to like it after seeing just how damn gorgeous the suit is in it's entirety.

I was an ardent supporter of the trunks and I was pretty sure that any design omitting them would have dropped the ball and looked awful.
Then I saw the MOS suit.

Yep, they did really well on the suit. I mean, there's hardly anything about it that puts you off. With the previous suits (especially the SR-one) you sort of just accepted the silly looking spandex, because that's how it'd been done so far.
But with MOS it's a totally different ballgame. It proves that the tight "spandex"-look can look awesome. Well, actually Raimi's Spider-Man proved that 10 years ago. And of course, the chain-mail and the alien patterns break up the smooth surfaces that usually make tight outfits look off. And yes, trunks would've very much been the perfect icing on the cake, but all the other great aspects of the suit compensates for the lack of them.

Haha. It,s almost like a dejavu.everything the new director does will be praised up to the sky. In singer we trust. R'member? Now everything they do will smell roses... regardless of 'trunkless', glasses less', shirt-ripped-off-less,... until the movie isn't so well received by the public... but it will be too late then...

Well, I just hope that in the coming weeks leading into the eventual release of MOS, that most of us won't have to go through the phase of getting upset from seeing a swoon of mixed to negative reactions for the film.
The film has a quite a few obstacles to overcome already; competing with Monster's University, gaining the attention and interest of the GA after the disappointment of SR along with the recent rise of popularity in many other comic book heroes, and I'm pretty sure that Warner Bros. is hoping for this film to make more than its predecessor did, which would mean that it'd have to make more than 400 million worldwide. |

He was criticized tons before and after the movie was released, and the movie's BO, and critical reception very much mirrored the general consensus on here. Everyone's reaction to Synder has been entirely different, and tons more positive - honestly, surprisingly so, in some casses. I wouldn't go so far as to say its box office results will mirror that, but I certainly hope they do.

There came the, movement, in singer we trust, though we heard about the leak on the kid n no supervillain to fight with. Anyway, we still know too little on MOS. N the suit won't break the movie. Hopefully they can get a good story this time. But WB has never managed to get one after trying so many years.

there was also a blog-group who was devoted to bring down Singer's Superman... it was more divided than you realize.
but like CConn has said, you dont see that with this movie |

the thing about Singer's film, once he said Superman Returns was set in the Donner verse i had a feeling it was going to be a huge letdown
thus far, from what i've seen and heard about Man Of Steel is that i think Snyder will finally deliver the best Superman film to date. even better than the first Donner film believe it or not. |

Actually, has anyone noticed how similar MOS came together just like STM? It was the producers who came to get the film made, like Nolan going to WB; it was them to hired a director (Synder), Superman was played by an unknown (Cavil, more or less despending on how much people know him in the US), with the supporting roles filled in by well-known, oscar even actors (Crowe, Lane, Adams, Costner, Fishburne). See?

MOS earning 400 million worldwide would be okay. Also. Look at how much praised and fairly "Successful" Marvel movies earned, with 3D assistance and higher ticket prices (as compared to SR which made about 391 mil. worldwide) Thor - Worldwide collection: $449 mil. Captain America -Worldwide collection: $368 mil. X-Men First Class -Worldwide collection: $353 mil. The Incredible Hulk - Worldwide collection:$263 mil. I don't expect MOS to earn boatloads of cash like Transformer movies, Pirates movies or Avengers.
