There you go. The brush and eraser tools are still used a lot, but not s broadly as you'd expect. For example, if you took the pic of something, and you first take the color out..or start with something very black&white-ish....

...then on a layer above it, put an area of a color....

and the for that color layer, you choose a Blending Option of 'overlay' or soft light, etc, you get....

...which kind of gives the color quality to the image's details underneath instead of just slathering on color. Then you just keep combining different layers of colors and carefully trim things with the eraser or masks, and....

It looks like when Bill & Ted built robot versions of themselves to take on their other evil robot versions...except it's superheroes.

I have some ideas up my sleeve. Thanks for having patience, too. I'll try not to let you down.

Here are some updated oldies in the meantime.

I love the manips. Superb job on both of them. It gives me a great idea of how Cavill will actually look and it really makes him look regal.

i'm really happy they didn't go with the chris reeve/leotard look. it was great in its time, but, my goodness, it looks cheap and outdated now. like a terrible halloween costume.

Yeah, I actually have more of a problem with Routh's hair than I do his costume.

I have to say that the MOS costume looks the best here. I've been against the lack of trunks (not that it would ruin the film lol, and the rest of the costume did look spot on), but in this image, it all works.

Oh, and looking at the SR costume next to the rest... I see why everyone had a problem with it lol.

Cracking image

I actually really like the lack of spitcurl with Cavill's hair.. but I still wish it was parted the other way. Jim Lee did that too.. parted it from the right instead of the left.

my theory is since Zack brought earlier that he loved Jim Lee's rendition of Supes, i guess that's why he go that route. i personally think the curl, or front hair or whatever you and i called it, will be shown though perhaps subtly and naturally during some sequence in the movie, makes it more logical and spontaneously cool and homage kind, rather than making it up as a style. Since that curl, though it's iconic, is one of Supes attribute that often get played by people.

I truly believe the reason of that curl is since the inception it was a hip of it's time.

I believe that it also happens to be Cavill's natural part. It's hard to fight against that and make it look good.

can you explain a bit with "natural part" thing??? i guess hair can be comb in anyway not to mention with a particular foam or gel or wax, you basically can made anything out of your hair.

By all means! Thanks for checking, but that's not necessary. It's a fan forum, and we're all excited to see what you come up with.
