Would make sense as having each of these villains making it a more "personal" matter for the heroes. Plus, I can't help but feel that Thanos needs more time to be built up for his reveal.

I'm hoping for Ultron, but I'd be up for The Masters of Evil. Maybe they could be a secondary threat, all being brought together by Ultron to fight the Avengers, while he carries out some sort of masterplan.

How much longer will this be shooting for?

Unless they just want to keep throwing little bits of him here and there. IMO it would be foolish to throw someone that big for the follow-up. he needs to be brought in little by little, so the magnitude of his threat level can be built upon. I mean after him, what would be a bigger threat for Avengers 3?

What would be good about the Masters of Evil is seeing the Avengers fight a team of baddies, each with different personalities. That is quite a different dynamic to Avengers 1, and would be different to them fighting Thanos himself.

We haven't had that team vs team scenario yet in the MCU. It would be great to see it, plus it would seem like Marvel have pulled it off again with a bunch of bad guys having built them up over a period of time and now uniting them together.

THe only thing is how do the Leader, Mandarin, Red Skull and Loki all work together? Who would be in charge? They're even more competing egos than the Avengers. I can understand with the lackeys, but with the leaders it's another matter.

That could be how they ultimatley fall apart and lose, I guess. Lack of an obvious leader and their conflicting perosnalities in the end not working to their advantage. Out of those four I would choose Red Skull as the leader of the team. Loki can't take the spotlight again.

I say leave Loki out of the team. If he does play at all, it should be in a similar capacity to how he was in Avengers:Earth's Mightiest Heroes. He can just be operating behind the scenes. That leaves the Mandarin, the Leader and the Red Skull. I don't really feel that any of them are as much of a team player as Baron Zemo, who should've been in Cap 2.

I'm more a fan of a team of new baddies with one of them positively in the lead. What about character development or motivation for these new villains you ask? You pile that upon the leader and his lackeys are just that. You use one real cool villain to lead like Baron Zemo and take your pick for the rest if the villains in his employ.

Yeah, but I like seeing old villains turn up again. It distinguishes them from these other superhero films where the villain just dies in the end or doesn't show up ever again in a major capacity. Sure, we've had Magneto, but you expect that in the X-Men.

What was cool about Loki (even though it is accurate to the comics) is that he was primarily a Thor baddie and yet he became everyone's enemy and you had the likes of Cap, Iron Man or Hulk fighting him.

I'd like to see Hulk fighting the Executioner, or Thor fighting the Abomination, or Cap fighting the Mandarin, or Iron Man fighting the Leader.

Or Black Widow mud/oil wrestling the Enchantress. In the nude.

One thing I'm worried about is that if you're gonna tackle the Extremis storyline right out of the gate in phase 2, where do you go from there? I'm no expert on his armor in the comics but isn't that pretty much the pinnacle of Stark's tech?
