Jonathan Hickman wrote that issue.

It still bugs me that Thor isn't at least attempting to talk to the Phoenix Five about how wrongheaded their "improvements" to the world are, given that Thor did exactly the same things when he held the Odinpower and had lost his humanity. Sure, they'd just brush him off, but it'd be nice to see him at least try.

Well, in order to do that, they would have to acknowledge Dan Jurgens. And seeing as how he currently is and always has been a DC guy, Marvel seems to get pretty spiteful over stuff like that.

How has he always been a DC guy? He wrote Thor for like 4 years.

4-5 years out of a 30 year body of work he wasn't at DC. I consider him more of a DC guy than a Marvel guy.

in order to do that they have to acknowledge anyone's work before what they are writing now.

Is Thor really all he's done for Marvel? I thought he was one of those guys who's been everywhere in the industry for basically forever. I'm having trouble coming up with other Marvel work for him, though, now that you mention it...

He wrote and pencilled Sensational Spider-man 0-6...it was mostly about Ben Reilly and he wanted to write Peter so he quit.
He wrote and pencilled Captain America(vol 3) 25-50

I just read the latest WaTX and WTH? Why the heck did Wolverine assault and kick Rachel around when she did NOTHING to initiate any violence towards him? He nearly clawed her and thank god she probably picked up on his thoughts to move her hand in time

Isnt Iceman, Beast's oldest and dearest friend? Bobby approaches himand says he wont fight him but instead wants to talk things out to end this conflict and Beast proceeds to look at him like some mad man and shoots him up with his energy gun

LMAO, someone must hate Thor. He gets jobbed by the Phoenix almost every issue. Last week it was Cyclops and this week its Namor and before that it was multiple times by the PF in space. Im sure Emma will kick him around in their Vs issue.

Angel's developing new powers. Hmmm.....interesting

Yeah, after all that defending of W&tXM's tie-ins I did yesterday this issue comes out and disappoints. Oh well. Hopefully next issue will be better since Gladiator's in it.

I still think WatX was written well and was a great read. Rachel was the breakout star and I never care for her. The art was good and I liked the pacing and use of the flashbacks in the issue. I thought it was a good tie-in. The writing with Beast and Logan was bad though. They came across awful

I can see how some people can get confused by the timing bc some tie-ins take place at the same time as the main series but expanding upon some scenes but then you have this which takes place directly after AvX 6. Almost seems like it could have been AvX 7 as I was surprised to see it deal with the Avengers kidnapping Hope and the X-men searching for her already

I hated how the treated Hank in this book. And didn't he declare himself neutral with Black Panther in AvX #6? And I know Rachel is a powerful telekentic but I find it hard to believe she can take down Thor so easily, even if he did already get broken in by Phoenix Namor.

AvX is about jobbing Thor to anything Phoenix, apparently even former Phoenix hosts

The Rachel stuff was decent but eclipsed by the horrible handling of Beast and Iceman going after each other. The Rachel stuff felt boring though because, as I said in the Bought/Thought thread, she was pretty much Spider-Man from Civil War, but with less importance to the main story and likely no repercussion of her convictions.

Haha, that's about right. It can be expanded to apply to virtually anyone other than Cyclops and Cap, too.

Bleeding Cool is reporting that Hulk is either being relaunched or retitled as Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. in the post AvX Marvel Universe with Jeff Parker.

Hulk as in Parker's Red Hulk comic?

Bobby Drake, one of Marvel's characters that writers refuse to let grow up, is the only character in this entire crossover who says anything that actually makes sense, and he gets shot in the face for it. By his best friend.

Not only is this shameful crossover never getting any of my money, but it's not worth downloading.
