Production details regarding season 3.
http://winteriscoming.net/2012/06/hb...ction-details/ Weiss & Benioff are stepping into the directing gig for their first time and David Nutter is returning (reuniting with a DP he worked with on Millennium) for the last two episodes of the season. The new blood are Michelle MacLaren (!) who have done some real fantastic work on her episodes in Breaking Bad (One Minute, Salud etc), can't wait to see to what she'll do here and Alex Graves (The West Wing, Sports Night). The writers are the same, Vanessa Taylor, Cogman, Weiss & Benioff and of course GRRM. Casting news shouldn't be far away, excited.

Ooh, Alex Graves directed the pilot for Fringe, which I loved.

Could be Selyse, though she seems more attractive than Mrs.Baratheon is said to be in the books.
Eh I won't complain about another pretty face joing the cast. |

I could see Tara as Selyse Baratheon. Tara Fitzgerald had a somewhat detached vibe going on with her character in Waking The Dead.

Speculation that Natahlie Emmanuelle has also been cast based on who she is following on twitter (many GOT folks), and that she was in belfast, and she was riding horses

I hope we see more of Dragonstone than just the war room this time.

Emilia Clark will be going to SDCC. The very idea of the Khaleesi stepping foot into the same state as me just arouses me to no end.

Don't move to England, or you might spontaneously combust.

Unless D&D have changed Meera's name to Myranda..I don't think that is the case. |

She looks a lot like Meera, I think D&D are being stealthy with this bit of casting.

Yeah I could see her as Meera, it's possible they might be doing a Jeyne/Talisa on us. This "Myranda" could be a cover until it's official or if she's actually playing a character named Myranda is it then Myranda Royce, someone who doesn't even appear until AFoC, granted they could change that but to serve what purpose who knows or perhaps she's a completely new character?
Nice they've gotten someone to play Blackfish.

I started reading the books a few weeks ago (currently on Bk 4, they're great) but after reading them something occured to me. This is a book/tv comparison, but don't worry Matt, nothing spoilery at all. It's really more of a question of interpretation and sterotypes.
How did people feel about the portrayal of Renly in the TV show? I had no qualms with him being gay, but the thing that bothered me is that they didn't make him more...how would I put this..."golden child" esque. He's described as a young Robert in the books. Tall, handsome, strong, and quite clever and easy to gather friends to his side. In retrospect (since I saw the tv show first) I was very dissappointed that they seemed to feel the need to make Renly a weaker character. The Renly in the tv series would never have been described as a young Robert, and he never struck me as one who would have inspired many to follow him. I found this annoying because it was almost as if the show felt the need to make Renly seem a weaker and more effeminate character to fit with him being gay, which I think is playing into pre-concieved sterotypes. How did you guys feel about this?
