I don't know if he makes movies better, because he has been in some pretty terrible ones that I don't think can be improved in any way
 , but I almost always enjoy watching Klaus Kinski on the screen.

Ah yes, perfect example. I've always found that movie completely implausible and silly but it's worth watching SOLELY because Cruise is so awesome in it.

Choi Min Sak -- I Saw the Devil, Oldboy, Lady Vengeance, Shiri, Quiet Family, etc. -- never, never puts in anything less than a kick ass performance, far as I've seen, and his filmography is beyond stellar.
