Probably the same guy who signed off on having Thor hit a little kid in "Avengers Vs. X-Men", which now comes complete with Beast fighting Iceman, one of his oldest and closest friends. She looks like a space Nazi.

Sean, I understood what you were going for, and it was cool. I didn't realize the head ridge was also on the Ult. Mar-Vell costume. This costume is just really awesome to me. I think it, or something like it (which I realized I had piecemealed out of Sean's designs), would look incredible next to the rest of the MCU Avengers, no matter who's wearing it.

That would be cool but I guess the big question is would they want a "name" actor for Mar-Vell or do they not care about that? Since Mar-Vell doesn't have the name recognition of a Spider-Man or a Wolverine I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to get a well known actor to play him to draw people in. But I could be wrong.

How about Charlize Theron for Mar-Vell?
And I'm not even being facetious. I'm digging up the female Captain Marvel suggestion again, because, by god, it's time to cut out the middle man. Emphasis on "man." Look, if after all these decades, Marvel has come to the realization that they want to have Captain Marvel be a woman after all, then the MCU can eliminate all the wasteful and unpopular decades in-between and go straight for the throat. Bottom line: we don't *need* a male Captain Marvel. Just make Captain Mar-Vell a female, period. *Ditch* Carol Danvers altogether, and make Mar-Vell a female Kree, THEN tell the same Captain Marvel story (betrayal by Yon-Rogg, fighting the Kree Sentry, the Kree-Skrull War, etc.) that we all (okay, a handful of us) know and love.

Yeah, like I said before, we do need a male Mar-Vell because:
A) Headlining the movie with a male, and have a male action star in it will draw more people to the film, allow males to more easily connect with the film, and give little boys a cool action figure. B) Having a male-female relationship in the movie will draw more people into the characters and story than a female-female relationship. C) Having a human lead in Danvers makes her dramatically easier to connect to without having to go into her Kree upbringing D) The story where the hero dies is unique and gives the movie a chance to be beloved or at least groundbreaking and not formulaic E) There aren't any significant downsides to including a male Mar-Vell, skipping a good story to get to just show the end never helps. Charlize is the natural choice for Danvers imho (most bankable female star, wants to/has been other superheroes in the past), almost as bad as SLJ for Nick Fury. Not quite that bad, but she's the only one whose not in the running just for being hot, or being a TV action girl. But also, she can be quite hot, and also be a TV action girl if she so chose.

I just damn well want a Ms. Marvel film! I mean, if Ant Man can get one (is it in the works yet or just the developement stage?) then she certainly can! Oh, and Theron might be a bit difficult at the moment because she's jsut shaved all her hair off.

By the time any Ms Marvel film is in development, Charlize would have grown back all her hair.

Marvel is going to be mixing up what they feel works in the 616 with Ultimate-verse and any other alternate universes they have. They're not going to specifically look at only one of their universes for character/story inspiration, so I think those worried about them using too much Ultimate inspiration can relax.

Yeah, the only reason they use Ultimates as much as they do is because someone went through and modernized the MU for a cynical and modern audience about ten years ago, and did a great job with it. Why would you go back to the drawing board, when you already have a great 'is he or isn't he a god' story that you know works better than being disguised as a crippled old man? Why spend a scene trying to prove how badass and awesome Nick Fury is when you can just cast Sam Jackson and he is case and point why Nick Fury is the ish.
Now, obviously, Ultimate Carol Davners didn't 'work' as an empathizable or interesting character, so they'll probably lean more 616 and brand new stuff with her. Alternately, Captain Marvel worked a lot better in the Ultimate Universe than in 616, so they'll probably lean more towards that for things like his relationship with SHIELD, his mission and yes, character design. They did the same exact lean on Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, because it's just a frikkin GREAT design. Of course how that intermingles with a 616y Carol Danvers should be interesting.

For those who can't see it here is the link:
http://www.comicartcommunity.com/gal...t_Concepts.jpg Its a drawing/visual development of Iron Man. Not trying to dwell on my idea, just thought this iron man image helped illustrate my idea more. and I just found it yesterday. |

Is it just me, or does that link lead to disney go?
Regardless, the site you're linking to is an incredible site, got a lot of good stuff on here. Rehosting the pic you're talking about: Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
And a random Ms. Marvel pic... I guess illustrating how 'fixing' the current suit makes her look too much like widow:

Carol Danvers/Ms Marvel: Jessica Chastain
Walter Lawson/Captain Mar-Vell: Kevin McKidd Yon-Rogg: Benedict Cumberbatch Una: Gemma Arterton Ronan the Accuser: Jack Davenport I would want a altered version of Her Origins(MSH #12/13). I think the Accuser would be a better Villain then Sentry 459, but keep the Psyche-Magnitron weapon. |
