Default Squadron Supreme (Supreme Power)?

I didn't read any version of Squadron Supreme yet, but the version of the team shoun in Supreme Power seems to have been very popular, should Marvel Studios try to adapt this?

It seems like it could be big even if they made it set in a different universe and later made a cross-over like the one in Ultimate Power.

Should they? Shouldn't they?

They should. And the movie should come out exactly one month before the Justice League movie.

This is one of Marvel's properties that would really work best as a TV series than a film.

It's a shame JMS and GF never got to finish up their run on that book. It was amazing IMO. That book just went to hell after they left and never recovered.

If you do the Squadron, you have to do the Gruenwald Squad.

The Original Civil War.

That'd be really interesting. A very powerful twist on... everything. Most of their powers can be done on a TV budget, now that I think about it. Also, there's a lot of talky in these things... so... hm... a very good suggestion.

I actually like this idea. I've always had a soft spot for the Squadron Supreme. Blatant Justice League rip-off, yet done very well.

After actually reading the first two issues, a tv show is a better option, after all i don't want Marvel to ruin DC's chances.

I like the JMS reboot.. But who knows.. after the "modest" response to the Watchmen film, SS/SP is somewhat related (and doesn't the Gruenwald maxi-series pre-date Watchmen? Anyway..)
I might like to see a film focus on just one hero, like Hyperion, then it can gradually explore the other characters in future installments..

Not necessarily, no. But I don't want MS to fail neither. A SS movie that comes AFTER a JL movie could easily be seen as a copy (& rightfully so), so if a SS movie wants to be successful it HAS to come out before JL.
On the other hand, JL will probably considered as a quick cash in after the success of TA (again, rightfully. At least in the movies), I'm not sure how the audience will connect with THAT.

I loved the initial run of Supreme Power, but I have similar misgivings. I think Supreme Power is a bit too much like the Watchmen, or would be considered that way by the suits, and I think it would have a hard time getting the backing. Though I wouldn't mind them perhaps doing a Hyperion or Nighthawk movie. Both could be pretty awesome.

I think if Marvel wants to make this movie, they can make it quicker than DC could with their JL movie, since it could be done independently and without a set-up from other solo movies. It could be the first Marvel Studios movie that isn't set in the MCU as well. It's too bad JMS had a falling out with Quesada and Marvel, because I think he will be ideal to script the screenplay of a series that he rebooted with Supreme Powers.
