doesn't mean they have to turn up and be keeping watch like they were with the tesseract. foster's work was working without their involvement. so to get results it's best for them to not be involved.

They're already involved with her and watching her. Avengers proved that. Coulson was flat-out peeping-tom when he showed Thor the surveillance cameras he had trained on her.

Asgard is another dimension, not another planet....

And regardless, there's nothing that shows that Thor or his brother or his buddies had to make any atmospheric or gravitic adjustments in the "trip" from Asgard to Earth, so it's reasonable to assume Asgard has the same planetary qualities as Earth.

but that was because loki was on earth. that wasn't where she normally works. it was temporary for security reasons.

*Marvel apparently really, really REALLY wants Joel Edgerton for Strange.

*The "rest of the Thor cast" is returning, so pretty much everyone, I guess. With Fandral so far being the only recast.

Man if both Mads and Alice Eve are indeed cast, they will have knocked it right out of the damn park. I'm very psyched about those two. Eve would make a great female villain, especially one with sex appeal. She shines on the screen and I enjoyed her in that movie "She's Out of My League" ..... She's got the natural English accent too.

Ya I am with you there. Unfortunately, I am willing to bed that there is a 100% chance it won't happen. 1, Chris is 3 or 4 inches taller. And 2, Chris clearly gets HUGE for these movies. I don'tt see Mads getting that big, yet alone BIGGER, its just not going to happen. So I already got over that little hump

I just have a hard time imagining Skurge being smaller than Thor, it just doesn't seem right at all.

I'm sure Mads' Skurge won't be the 'roid-brick he is in the comics, but he can bulk up and they can muscle-suit and CGI him to make him look bigger, if that's the route they want to take. Tom Hardy sure as hell isn't as big as comic-book Bane, but I think at the end of the day, everyone will see that he's just as menacing, if not more so.

I don't think it's strange's involvment that bothers him, rather it's the complete bastardization of his character. Him being a surgeon is integral to his character, I don't see how getting your hands crippled could impede being an astrophysicist, whereas for a surgeon it's a career ender, and him being crippled is the entire reason he sought out the ancient one. to make him just some random astrophysicist who finds the eye of agamotto in Odin's treasure room, well, ya might as well not even call him doctor strange. so yeah, I would love to see doctor strange pop up, but if that's the way they're gonna do it, I'd rather they just keep him in the comics.

The "astrophysicist" was a misunderstanding on my part listening to the podcast. He never said Strange was an astrophysicist; just that he was a co-worker of Jane. Someone made an excellent suggestion that Strange could've been a friend of Dr. Donald Blake, and they might've been co-workers, and that's how he knows Jane Foster.

I think it just marginalizes the character. Strange has an interesting back story and to throw him in Thor for, what I feel to be, just the sake of having another big Marvel character in there is stupid. To me it's like in a Batman movie having Barry Allen be a cop in Gotham just to introduce Flash into a DC Film Universe.

Can't they do both? Cameo in Thor 2, full story in a solo movie?

I dunno, everything's still on rumormill setting, of course, but I'm wondering if Marvel is starting to see a new strategy to introduce major heroes/villains by cameo in OSHM (Other Super Heroes' Movies).

If that *is* the strategy, I still think a far, FAR better strategy is to turn to television. Hey, Smallville did a decent job of introducing ALL of the major DC players, and they weren't nearly as involved with continuity and creating a shared universe as Marvel Studios is.

Well it depends if it's a cameo or and actual role. If it's just a throwaway cameo then whatever, but if he's actually a major supporting character then I thnk that's silly.

AS far as the TV strategy, that could work for some but for Strange I think that's a bad idea and the Smallville comparison is shaky
