Nice group of movies. Things like Moonrise I wait for Cable or DVD though....I prefer these days to go to the theater for spectacle.

I'm really big into cinematography, so Wes Anderson movies are kinda spectacles to me.

You watch so many random classic B-Movies. It's impressive.

When I was younger, there was no tapes or DVDs...so I went to the theater to see everything...because with many of them, if you didn't see it then, you didn't see it. Now though....I only go to the theater to watch big expansive movies.....I save everything else for DVD. But I watch practically anything at least once when I get the chance. One thing I do is, I buy those big sets of old movies you see packaged together at the stores. There are all kinds of movies in them (ranging from damn good to was there a contest to make the worst movie possible?)....but always something new to see.

The thing I'm very quickly discovering about movies is...I really don't like American film that much. At least not the so called classics. I've seen things like Forest Gump, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Goodfellas, etc. once, and I really don't have any interest in seeing them again.

But Felini, Bergman, Fritz Lang...their films appeal to me in nearly every way.

The funny thing for me...I don't consider the films you mentioned as American classics....to me the classics are mostly from the 30's, 40's and 50's....but then those are the ones I grew up watching the most.

You're right, actually.

They're more like the American film equivalent of the Silver or Bronze Age.

I love most movies pre-1970. Although, I'm still more inclined to enjoy the crime noir films rather than the Sunset Blvd, Some Like It Hot, etc. kind of movies.

Yeah, but you seemed like you didn't even know they had hired a writer yet.

Some news were told about a guy who read the script for Amazing Spider-Man two years ago, said it has Scorpion, Venom, and a third villain, more respected than anyway they were depicted before
So I'm reserving judgement here, even after seeing the news coming from quite a credible resource

Just saw 'Sinbad and the eye of the tiger' a few days ago.

It was probably the 1st movie i've ever saw on theatre.

Such a weird, funny movie! still love it though!

I love 7th Voyage the best. The effects overall are great, but the cyclops vs dragon fight is spectacular. All the ones that Harryhausen worked on were good, and a couple that most people don't know too much about are SINBAD THE SAILOR starring Douglas Fairbanks Jr and Maureen O'Hara....and CAPTAIN SINBAD starring Guy Williams.
