9/10. Only issue I had was with the score, it seemed odd and unfitting at places, and only a minor issue with the Lizard's facial design. Other than that, it's the Spider-Man movie I've been waiting for.

I'm pretty sure this is unpopular among most users...
But I loved The Amazing Spider Man. It was like a Spidey comic come to life. Amazing seeing some of Todd MacFarlanes Spidey art literally jump from page to screen. |

I liked Green Goblin's costume in the movie.

Another Oscar abomination was Rocky snubbing best picture from Taxi Driver, which also won Palm D'or. Martin Scorsese gets his first best picture for his remake of Infernal Affairs, The Departed. While his original masterpieces get overlooked, I just don't understand the Academy.

All things considered, The Departed is still pretty damn ****ing good. Scorsese was robbed when Kevin Costner won for Dances with Wolves. That movie was forgotten about almost immediately until Avatar came out and the comparisons started.

I think why Raging Bull and Taxi Driver lost is because people were taken off by them. The Oscars have always been politics. They don't want to call the best movie of the year the one about a disturbed, solitary taxi driver with sexual dysfunction who becomes a vigilante when it's competition is an uplifting everyman story about achievement and self-worth. Rocky is probably the same reason why Raging Bull didn't win. For Goodfellas, the old white man committee will recognize it as great, but a white man being understanding of a different culture is more PC and friendly than a bunch of white people committing sins and feeling bad for not being able to do them anymore by the film's end.
Forrest Gump over Pulp Fiction? That's an obvious choice for the Academy.

I woudn't say I loved it, but I think a costume that was 100% faithful to the comic would have looked even sillier.

Yeah, I never had a problem with the costume.
It always seemed kinda ridiculous just how much people complained about it on here.

About GG's costume. At the time it really didn't bother me. I was just glad they were finally making a proper Spider-Man movie.
But yeah, it looked very Power Ranger-y. They got lots of things right about the character, though: the casting, the double-personality of Norman, the laugh, the glider. But the costume just didn't work for me. True, is very hard to make it work, but I think with the technology today, it can be achieved. |

Other than the mask, Raimi's GG looked like nothing related to Power Rangers.

I think something like that would work better in TASM setting, which had more of high tech sci fi setting. they could make his mask like the face masks in the mission impossible movies.

That's actually really creepy in a good way. Only thing I would change would be the eyes.
But I'd prefer it to be a transformation and not a mask |

Why did they go from that to the Power Rangers mask?
Why?

I'm pretty sure every costume people dislike on here gets compared to Power Rangers. I've seen it used for Bale's Batman suit, the Avengers Captain America suit, and the Green Lantern suit.

But only one suit completely covered the face of the perfectly cast actor for the role.

Whoa, that original Goblin design is much cooler than I thought it would be. Maybe they should have gone with that. Payaso is right; it never did make much sense that they cast a guy who actually looks like a goblin in real life and then covered his entire face.

One of the rumors is that Williem Dafoe didn't want to spend 6 hours putting makeup on, so Raimi decided to go with armor.

I did too.
Honestly, I think it might not technically be that good, but it's fun enough to have a good level of rewatchability.

Save for Liam Neeson's badassery, The Grey was overrated.
