Ben is a character who believes that if you can do something to help other people, you have a responsibility to do it. Yes, I know that this is Richard Parker's "philosophy", but it's quite apparent that Ben believes it too. Thus, it makes total sense that he would leap for the gun and try to hold off the thug until people could get to safety.

The first reveal of Spider-Man. C'mon!!! In a backpack?! After such a long wait?
The way that reveal played out, so contrary to typical Superhero reveals, made it very funny and clever in my eyes.

Quote:
The way Peter revealed his identity. It could've been a lot more epic than babbling on her rooftop then web shooting her butt.
He's awkward and he's nervous. And so he doesn't tell her, he shows her. Could it have been dope in a more epic way? Sure. But why? The way it was done was really cute and funny, and it fit the scene perfectly. Also Gwen's face when he brings her in right before the kiss is priceless.

Quote:
The drawn out awkward moments with Gwen. It's funny at first but let's keep it moving.
I am so glad you don't make movies.

Quote:
Gwen attacking the Lizard. It was very unrealistic and SM should'nt have said anything to her but tossed her to safety immediately.
Gwen is a proactive character, not a damsel in distress. That's also why she doesn't just run away from Oscorp, but gets everyone out and tries to hide the machine Connors is after. Having her attack the Lizard sets up that proactive nature and also makes her a much better character overall.

As for Spidey's reaction, I loved the way he immediately went to work on The Lizard, webbing him up from toe to toe (and moving like an actual spider!) and then tossing Gwen out the window. The line he says to her right before he does it is hilarious, as is her reaction.

Quote:
The way Peter was bitten. What's to stop anyone else from going in there and getting Spider powers?
Um. Same argument can be made for the first Raimi movie, and even the comics. At least this door had a lock

Quote:
Unnecessarily drawn out origin. It took too long for us to see Spider-Man and the Lizard.
Personally, I don't think it took too long, but that's just me. But I will have to argue with you on the "unnecessarily drawn out origin". What exactly as unnecessary about it?

Quote:
The car save scene with the little boy. At a critical moment like that, SM should've just jumped in and grabbed the boy without a moments hesitation because he's crying. The kid did not have to agree for SM to take action.
Spider-Man isn't a civilian rescuing machine. He's a human being, and so it makes sense that he'll act with some compassion when saving a child, not cold detachment. He's not Batman. Also, from a pure movie standpoint, this scene was touching and unique, having him just jump in and save the boy would have made it just another rescue scene. Instead they took something we've all seen before and approached it from a very interesting angle, which really can be said about the whole film.

The guy in the post credits sequence isn't Norman, but someone in his employ.

It's The Green Goblin.

Eh? Eh?

... what the Hell connection would the burglar have with OsCorp? Let's not pull a SM3 here.

Guys I think the mysterious person in the mid credits scene is Electro. Why else have lightning in the background? it only strikes before he enters and just moments before he disappears. I want him in a movie!!!

Why else have lightning?

A. It was raining during the funeral scene as well as the porch scene between Gwen and Peter, so there must have been storms in the area.
B. Dramatic effect. It's one of the oldest cliches in the book.

Damn, fanboys are professional over-analyzers.

wow REALLY!? I never knew that! I'm in film industry so thanks for breaking that down on how lightning may work in a scene...

Anyways Marc Webb actually wasn't denying the idea when someone approached him on the idea that it was indeed Electro. He wouldnt confirm or deny so i thought it was something. He seemed somewhat excited/ suprised someone caught that.

Marc Webb hasn't denied any idea people have suggested. He hasn't confirmed any, either. The lightning has no significance, I guarantee you that.

I would say it could be, but the way he just disappears...Gobby doesn't have teleportation powers. Though it could just be a poorly done overly dramatic "where'd he go? That was fast!" moment not intended to give the impression he walked through a brick wall. Who knows.

I like the idea of Osborn kinda hiding in the shadows for a couple movies leading up to his big reveal in the third film.

Electro can't teleport either.... And if he turned into electricity to do so.... You'd have light, not darkness

Despite what I have heard, I still say that the man in the shadows is Norman Osborn. If it wasn't Norman, it just wouldn't have been as significant. Just another employee is kind of... lame.

It's not Norman and it is significant because he is probably the main villain in the sequel. What would be the point of this scene if he is not the villain in the sequel?

C'mon, guys! We already know the goblin serum gives people the ability to move impossibly fast. Remember the cafe scene in SM3? It's obviously Norman. =D

I was thinking that the guy in the end credit scene might be Chameleon. In the comics he can turn into other people but I'm wondering if for the movie, like a real chameleon, he can also blend into the background, maybe that's how he seemingly disappeared. Especially if they're involving the whole cross species genetics.
