In all seriousness I saw a lot of movies last year that I though were good, even really good, but basically none that I would consider to be all that great any other year. |

I suspect that with using Zod, they're going to tie him in directly with the origin, and the narrative wouldn't work if they just threw out the origin from the film. Sure, it'd be acceptable in a comic, as part of an ongoing series, but we excuse a lot of what would normally be really ****** writing when it comes to comics.
