I think it might be too late for them to try that. Still, it is dreamworks, odds are they'll probably attempt something like it.

Maybe now that Disney sees how big crossovers can be (Not only with Avengers, but even with their Disney Channel crossovers: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/That's_...Hannah_Montana) maybe they'll try to convince Pixar to try their hand at it.

Yeah I saw a preview of that in the theaters with Madagascar. That was the first thing I thought of. I'm sure others are going to try this, the most obvious candidates are more Freddie vs. Jason movies, or Prometheus engineers meet the Predators! lol!
