Is this game alive? Can I get in on it?

So, apparently I have plans tomorrow now... Is there any way I can possibly arrive late to the session and partake in the fun towards the end of it when I get back home? Or at least listen in on the very end?

The DC game is. If you'd like to take part, you'd need skype and the DC adventures books, which I can hook you up with.
How late do you think you'll be?

Can't say for sure... I might only be a little late depending on what time everyone gets together. However, if my company doesn't mind, I could use my phone to Skype and not miss a thing. The only thing is that someone may have to roll for me since I don't have my own 20-side die yet.

Playing a game whilst socializing? You big ****ing nerd. Alright, what I'll do is work in a way for you to join the game in progress if you're about an hour late. Any later than that, and you'll probably have to sit out.

So, everybody taking part this Saturday, is it okay if we take this week off? I've got part of an adventure laid out, but it ends in a cliffhanger. I'd like some extra time to figure out what to do and all that jazz.

Why you sonuva*****. How dare you try to create a better gaming experience!
![]() ![]() Anyway, I might have an alternative for us to try out. I stumbled upon a site with software that lets you play boardgames online with friends. And they have a ton of boardgames to choose from. I figure, if it works, it'll give us something to do on Saturdays when people are missing or there's a delay. I haven't had a chance to test out the software this week until now, so I plan on doing so tonight. If anyone wants to test with me, just let me know. Two games I'm thinking we could try are Small World or Munchkin. If you're not familiar with these games, watch these videos: VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

Works for me. I'm having dinner with some friends and I'm not sure when we were getting done so this works out.

Ok. So I've been playing around with this board game system.
It's not a full system where all the game functionality is built in, except for what the game module creator has built in. Which could be a lot. Or could just basic maps and tokens, relying on players to do all the work. Which isn't a big deal since it makes it just like a real board game. But I also noticed a lack of rules and help built into a couple of the modules I've tested, which basically means it'll probably work best for games at least one of us has been played before. Unfortunately, they don't have a Munchkin module anymore. I was able to find one on the site...but it was in Russian. Speaking of the site, here's the first page of all the game modules. http://www.vassalengine.org/wiki/Category:Modules Look through and see if there's any games you'd be interested in trying out. |

I'm interested in participating one of those board games.
Which one, I don't know. That list is kind of overwhelming. |

The Risk module seems playable.
That's a game guaranteed to destroy friendships!

I'm a Risk fan. Not a particularly apt player but a fan nonetheless.
Does anyone know the name of that space-Risk game where your objectives are randomized? Or maybe they vary depending on the race you play as, I don't really remember. In fact there's not much I remember about the game beyond that. |

I think you're thinking of Twilight Imperium. One of my friends has that, and we play it every once in a blue moon. That's a fun one, but it takes forever to finish a game.

That sounds like it. I've never played it but I heard it was fun so I thought about maybe trying that one.

I'd rather play a game that at least one person has played before so someone knows all the rules.
otherwise we have to rely on whatever help people have built into the modules. Which, looking at the base BSG game module, is zero when it comes to playing. |

Aside from the "classics", Star Wars Miniatures and Star Wars Epic Duels are the only other board games I'm really familiar with (and miniatures isn't even really a true board game). Epic Duels is pretty fun and short

I just got the Marvel heroic RPG book at the convention I attended this past weekend, and I plan on learning the game and I would like to GM a game of that if anyone is interested.

I looked at one of the Marvel books at a store a few weeks ago. If you can make heads or tails of how that **** works, I'd be up for playing.

I completely forgot to mention this yesterday, but if you're willing to spend a little money on Steam, you can buy the Indy Bundle VI for $9.99, which includes Ticket to Ride. By itself, TTR costs $9.99 normally.
VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:
Ticket to Ride is a fun game (I was luckily able to get it for my iPhone during a promotion, and have become addicted to it). And we'd be able to play this against each other. It also comes with Defcon, another multiplayer game. I've never heard of it before, and don't know if it's any good, but we could try it out. Plus you'll get 3 single player games. I don't know anything about those either, but we're essentially getting 4 free games for the price of TTR. Also, if you're on Steam anyway, get TF2 so we can kill each other with explosives and bullets. |

We got a game tonight? I'm looking for some more DC action, and I may even be able to bring a friend of the female variety!
