wow. Just wow. I must say I am stunned. I now want Negan to get hurt long and hard before his death just like the governor. But I want it worse. And I think Maggie should have a hand in it. Up to now she has been kind of non-violent, but I'm hoping this will push her over the edge enough that we will see a truly violent, unbelievable torture and carnage. And I want her to use Lucille.

I have that same shock when someone real dies. I can't believe Glenn is gone. It would be easier to take if it was cleaner and more dignified, like Abraham's death. But damn.... nothing they do to Negan can make up for THAT.

I always thought Tyreese went out in a terrible way, but if I had to choose, I'd rather take his fate. This was so much worse.

Yeah, no, I found the series pretty damn exciting up until issue 85 or so. It's just since then that it's gotten stale.
I've been wondering if I should drop this book. Problem is to find a place in the story to do that.

Here's the thing. Kirkman has said he sees this book going on and on for a long time. He obviously wants a long epic on human nature. He's mentioned Cerebus, which ran 300 issues, awhile back, and recently commented on "issue 300" again in a interview. The problem is with issue 100, I've realized how this will end...

With all of these characters dead. There is no hope. For any of them - as Kirkman has even made comments about the series continuing on without Rick. But Im feeling like the story is already spinning its tires.

So this book has pretty much become a endless series of cast death scenes and a guessing game of "whos going to die next" as I agree the story has seemed to become stale. The zombies have been solved and figured out. There is no safe haven, no cure, however the zombies are a managable threat. Its people who are the problem, so the story has evolved into a Ricks community vs dangerous community, and with each confrontation we see more regular characters die. I'm a pretty desensitized guy, but I dont think Im interested really in seeing Carl, Andrea, Michonne and Rick endlessly tortured maimed and killed.

I'm kind of feeling theres no point to going on reading, because theres no end in sight for the torment of these characters - they will ALL be tortured and die horrible gruesome deaths.

Maybe everyone will die. But it's the journey, not the destination that I'm interested in.

I honestly don't get the complaints about the book. To me it's as strong as it's ever been. I think you should at least see where Kirkman goes with this sick Negan bastard. The worst issue of this book still beats the holy hell out of the best episode of the watered down TV show. Maybe I just like my stories darker than dark. Torture, death, dismemberment... bring it on.

I just thought of the perfect punishment for Negan: Michonne sodomizes him with a katana. Repeatedly.

The katana is just to make room for Lucille, right?

I know Kirkman's stance on Daryl. But Daryl should show up, launch an arrow up there too, then leave until Kirkman is ready to introduce him.

This book really brings out the bloodlust in people. Can't help but feel like this is what Kirkman wants

Glenn's death wasn't as bad as Tyreese's. With Glenn you knew it was coming, and it was just brutal. With Tyreese those bastards gave you hope just a little bit, and it kept getting taken away. I was all:

"Alright The Governor just has one damn hand, he won't finish this."

*HACK*

"Well that didn't go all the way through. Tyreese might be messed up for life, but he's still alive and kicking."

*HACK*

"Well he might not be able to talk or chew his food, but he's still alive. C'Mon Michonne come out of those bushes and save him. Andrea shoot his ass, or something! Any minute now."

*HACK*

"Now I know he has half a neck now. This I know. But maybe through the magic of comics they can..."

*HACK*

"Son of a *****! He's dead as the Colonel now! Dammit! No one is safe!"

*HACK*

"Stop cutting his damn head! He's dead! Dead!"

*HACK*

Glenn's death was waaaaaaaaaay worse than Tyreese's. I'd much rather have my head cut off (even if it takes a few chops to get the job done) than get the baseball bat.

I was always disappointed Lori didn't take up Carol's "offer." What a prude. I mean, you're already in a prison...

Well he did get it worse than Tyreese did, but by the time Glenn died we had already seen so much death. It was horrible what happened to him, but when Tyreese died there was still a sense that some people wouldn't be touchable. Sure Shane died, and so did some others, but Tyreese felt like a guy that was going to stick around for a lot longer. That was right before the big showdown with the Governor too where a lot of crazy things happened. It was a great arc, but man did it tug at my heart strings.

It was so damn bittersweet. As soon as Tyreese died I was hoping like hell that Lori died. Too bad they had to kill her along with her new born baby like that. I literally had to stop reading the story and catch myself a bit. That was just turrible turrible.

Dear lord....I cried. This issue was intense for me. I knew something big was going to happen but at the same time I kept thinking "There's going to be another shoot out. Another big brawl. Rick will come out with one less limb or one more bullet hole, one less [person] in the group but they'll be victorious like always." But no...

**** was I wrong.

Ugh....

I feel completely sick but at the same time...it's refreshing...I'm not sure how I feel about that.

This is going to sound horrible, but it's way too risky having kids in this crazy world. Maggie's baby is probably gonna die too.

I forgot that Maggie was pregnant. Well...she's a goner now. I'm picture Kirkman in his lair with an evil mustache saying, "This will surely make them cry some more! Muahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!"

I think Kirkman will only kill off a character if it helps the story. Glen made sense in that he was the one that got mess with the least.

I don't think Maggie and Sophia will die. That would be too obvious. I bet they end up at the hill-top community since that was Glenn's last wishes.... and away from Rick and his terrible decisions. Bet she hates Rick now.

Just read it, finally. A week late, but whatever. Glenn's death was gross, but you could see it coming by about halfway through the issue. Glenn goes to sleep all self-assured. "Oh, I've made this trip before, piece of cake." Famous last words, sucker.

Plus, he's one of only four characters left from the original cast. Rick's not gonna die. Someday, sure, but that'll most likely be to make way for Carl to take the reigns as the main character, and Carl's not ready for that yet. Carl's safe for exactly that same reason. So that left Andrea or Glenn. Andrea had me worried a bit when she was standing on the wall completely exposed like a moron. But the thing that cinched Glenn in my mind is the fact that Kirkman's very carefully set Glenn up with much more to lose than Andrea. Andrea dies, so what, she makes Rick a bit sad but he gets over it because, frankly, getting over Lori's death was way the hell harder for him and he did that relatively okay. Glenn dies and Maggie and Sophia's lives are f***ing shattered. He no longer gets to realize the happy ending he'd been marching toward since he and Maggie got together. Maggie's now stuck as a single mom to someone else's child with her own on the way. The dramatic fallout from Glenn's death is way bigger than Kirkman could've gotten from Andrea's.

So, yeah, it was gross but not unexpected. Hell, I've been expecting both Andrea and Glenn to die for the past year or so. Nothing packs a punch quite like killing off a character readers have followed since pretty much the beginning.
