10,000 FANS HAS VOTED! #3
Posted: June 3, 2012, 22:57:25 With 440 votes The Shining lands on #3 on the list. That leaves 3825 votes to split between the #1 and the #2 book and I can tell you that #1 got 2390 votes (almost 25% of the total 10,000 votes) and the #2 got 1435 votes. I won't tell you what the last two titles are though until tomorrow... Keep checking back, or follow Lilja's Library on facebook or twitter and you'll know about it as soon as I post. ![]() |

10,000 FANS HAS VOTED! #1 & 2
Posted: June 5, 2012, 00:24:07 The King book that the fans like the most is...THE STAND. It got 2390 votes out of 10,000. That's 23,9% of the votes. On second place we have IT with 1435 votes. That is 14,4% of the votes. This means that the top two books got more than 38% of the votes. That tells me that these two are the books that the fans really like and that THE STAND is the #1 Stephen King book if the fans get to say. What are your commens on this result? Let me know below or on facebook or twitter. Thanks to everyone that voted! ![]() |

Perhaps its because I read the unabridged version but, while it is of course quite good, The Stand is nowhere near my favorite Stephen King book.

Neat chart. Here's a few DT connections:
Insomnia: Features the Crimson King, as well as the Doctors, who collect the lifeforce/souls of the dead. One of them has a rat's den of mementos from those whose lifeforce he has taken. When Ralph Roberts enters this nest, he comes across a child's shoe, touches it, and has a psychic flash showing little Gage Creed standing in the path of that big rig. So you could then take whichever King novels are related to Pet Semetary and put them in the same universe as the Dark Tower.

I'm getting back into fiction, and the first thing I'll do is buy all his works.

The Talisman/Black House impressed me greatly. If DT is King's lord of the rings then his Talisman stuff would be his Narnia.

New King story coming soon!
Posted: July 3, 2012, 15:45:52 My friend Kevin Quigley over at Charnel House brought this to my attention just now. King is releasing a new short story later this month. This is what the moderator of King's board said: Another one will be coming out in a month or so but can't release details yet. This was posted last month and she later clarified that it's not part 2 of In the Tall Grass she's talking about by saying: Question: That other story you mentioned that will be out in a month or so... is that part two of In The Tall Grass? Moderator: It's not the second half--that's still the same story, not a different one. So, there you have it. More King stuff coming. And when you visit Charnel House don't forget to check out Kev's books, OK? Good. No third Talisman book in sight... Posted: July 3, 2012, 14:37:05 Section: Book » The Talisman 3 With so many new editions of The Talisman and Black House being released the speculations about if the third book is finally being written has once again started. So, I thought that who better to ask about this than Peter Straub. He should know, right? Well, I sent him an email asking if he and King was any closer to writing the third book about Jack Sawyer and got a reply within the hour. This is what he said: Sorry, Lilja, plans for the third book have gone no further than before. The new editions of the first two came about because the 10-year licenses on the previous editions came to an end, freeing us to sell the books all over again. So, there you have it. Despite new editions of the first two books we are far, far away from knowing how the tale of Jack Sawyer ends |

I was only 15 years old when I read The Pet Cemetery.I cried a lot at the end of the story. I don't know though. But I have to say, I was climbing to the ceiling because of the excitement I had at that time. It was so real

Creative differences between Eli Roth and the studio. Roth dropped out and the film got stuck in development hell.

Under the Dome is a pretty good novel. I hated Big Jim Rennie , the main antagonist , so much. I couldn't wait till his death scene.

How's it a spoiler though ? I didn't say how he dies. Everyone knows the antagonist always dies in a Stephen King novel.

Fair enough, your call. Ilayda should know who dies before he reads it.

I only spoiled the most obvious death in the whole book. I didn't mention any of the other deaths nor did I describe how he died. On top of that it's a 3 year old book.

Is it really that big a deal to just throw it in a spoiler tag? Takes 2 seconds.

Yeah and ordinarily if it was any book or film which has been out for 3 yrs I wouldn't use spoilers either, but I only mentioned it because we both know the guy above hasn't read it and I thought it would be a courtesy to him.
