i've heard good things bout this book. I finally picked up a copy of the reprinted issue 1 this week. If this is half as good as the comparisons to Millar's Utlimates run, I'll be happy.

what your overwhelming patriotism would not allow you to read about a fictional US that is circling the drain?

How exactly does giving soldiers superpowers help a failing US government?

I don't know about what Blader meant, but I'm thinking it's more that Millar doesn't know when to stop pouring on the propaganda, and sure as hell can't do it very subtly.

Either that, or he means it's a totally piece of ****

I never said that it fixes anything. however there are some major changes. IE

makes people want to join the military. people willing to pay more taxes.
moral goes up. anything else you need? maybe tell you which direction up is, or do you want me to teach you that the stove it hot?
don't like it?
then don't read it.

I wouldn't call it overwhelming patriotism, but... well, I am an American. I can only take so much of Millar's blatant anti-Americanism before it becomes completely off-putting. I don't think that's unreasonable.

Touchy, touchy there little Millarnite.

I think that all those points are nowhere near as obvious as a stove being hot. At no point did you say anything about this being a public thing, and honestly, I don't see how it could help moral, but instead instate far more fear to give beings God-like powers, and cause huge amounts of controversy on top of that, despite a 'failing' government.

Also, I didn't mean what I asked as negative, and there was absolutely no way to perceive that. At no point did I say anything bad about the book, except when I was guessing what blader was talking about, you know, interpretation. At no point did I say that myself, just guessing what he meant by what he said. Anything else you need?

Amazing what the fanboys get worked up about.

not quite. you might be amazed to discover that I have no love for the corporate military complex that this country tries to police the world with. I just think its a cool concept, and I don't like the insinuations that people have been making based upon my interest in the book. Just because I watch and enjoy "Silence of the Lambs" does not mean I endorse eating people.

And, at no point, did I accuse you of such, not even sure how you got that, at all.
