I'd say Blake's knowledge about Batman, and the final 2 minutes were my biggest problems; Alfred's treatment was definitely top 3 though.

But on Blake I had a problem with him inheriting the cave/cowl at the end. I mean Blake is an ordinary guy, competent yes. But if he goes out as Batman he'll get killed on his first night. But to put numbers on it I say: 1. The treatment of Alfred 2. The treatment of Talia and I dont really have a third. Those were my only 2 major problems with TDKR |

Your first spoiler is included in my final 2 minutes issue.
Regarding your number 2, it was a bit of an annoyance for me, but I know that the relationship and motivation has been written like that in the comics, so it didn't bother me much, I'll just say Talia dying was unnecessary.

Exactly, deviation is completely irrelevant.
For 70+ years, different comic book writers brought their own take to Batman. Last edited by returntovoid; 07-29-2012 at 05:04 AM. |

didn't people complain about it then? just because it was done before doesn't make it a good film-making technique.

Nah, I think it was better utilized in The Bourne Identity and made more sense overall.
It's more that it was Batman that they used it on that made it particularly bad. I'm not a big fan of it in general, but I do think its a legitimate technique.

Yeah, the shaky cams add a frenetic feel to the Bourne movies that just works, and make more sense in those movies.
Personally, I prefer to actually see what the hell is going on in the screen. |

At the same time, I do think they could've pulled it off without reducing Bane at all. It's just how it was written, it made Bane look like a little ***** ultimately. Then again, the Emperor made Darth Vader look like a little ***** in ROTJ too, so I guess it's not THAT bad.

I despise the way Peter was written in ASM. Make no mistake: Garfield is a talented actor and tried to make the best out of a peter who was an arrogant arse. In fact, I wish the film had been about Sheen's Uncle Ben or Ifans' Connors ( and I am happy they made him a bachelor, as the family disintegrating because of Mr. Hyde plot has been overdone.)
Heck, a film chronicling Ben's earlier years - his arc of maturity, amidst the social turnmoil of the 60's and 70's would have been more interesting than Peter's arc in the film. But, outside of the aforementioned and characterization and bloated romance, the writing in the film is good. The Oscorp cross species program and tech noir with the Parkers is terrific. |

ROTJ would have probably ended up being my favorite Star Wars movie if A. it didn't have the Ewoks and B. Han was utilized a little better.

I'm pretty sure Harrison Ford is stoned all through ROTJ.

I love ROTJ. Just as much as Empire. But I do like the prequels too so what do I know...

I honestly find all Sergio Leone movies straight up unwatchable. Yes, I ve seen them all. I will never sit through this boring crap again.
Whilst the "Dollars Trilogy" was at least somewhat fast paced (still bland and boring as hell), the "America Trilogy" gave me nothing but a hurting butt. After watching "Once upon a time in the West / the revolution / in America" I felt bitterly cheated, I felt like Sergio Leone stole me 7 hours of precious lifetime. I really could have done better thinks in those 7 hours. As I said earlier in this thread I also had a hard time making it through "The Godfather" movies. I also struggled alot with "Apocalypse Now". I turned off "The Conversation" after 30 minutes. I did not enjoy either "GoodFellas" or "Casino". I think "Taxi Driver" is unspeakable overrated. |

I saw The Godfather once about 11 years ago in high school. While I enjoyed it, I don't ever really need to see it again.

This thread is hilarious...
My unpopular opinion. I really like the Star Wars prequels and think the pod race and Yoda battle are very cool!
