Default Who could be a better Gambit?

Sooooooo.... I don't know about everyone else, but I wasn't terribly fond of Taylor Kitsch as Gambit in Wolverine: Origins.

....*dodges tomatoes*

Yeah, he looks the part... and that's about it. Maybe it was just the directing, I mean Gavin Hood managed to make Wolverine act like a complete pansy and didn't seem to care if Kitsch managed to say all of his few lines with a Southern accent. BUT that's besides the point.

What I'm trying to say is, there are other amazing actors who could do better, IMO.

My first choice would be THIS (super)fine gentleman, and great actor, Hans Matheson

Your opinions?

this guy looks pretty good! his facial features are, how do i say it? sharper? than kitsch's and i've always imagined remy like that. but i guess what's more important is the acting and the lines and the accent. i like taylor, but... i saw battleship several days ago, and he just seemed to have the same expression and the same tone of voice throughout the entire movie, doesnt matter if the aliens were murdering someone or if he was making out with his girlfriend. i mean, i like taylor, i say this again. but he could do better. but to be honest, i would be happy to see him being gambit again. does it sound contradictory? maybe his hotness makes me not want to bash him.

Hmm....
I had no idea he was actually slated to be Gambit! Interesting! I must have not been paying attention.
He'd be excellent too, though perhaps just a smidge too old by now... in my head, he should be closer to Rogue's age, otherwise there's an uncomfortably inappropriate triangle between them and Wolverine...

Josh Holloway would have been great as Gambit.Watching him on Lost I always think how good he would have been as Gambit.

My toughts exactly!!! I loved Josh in Lost but he's too old now. Young Taylor could still bring us good stuff. I do have faith in him.

Hans Matheson looks fitting for Gambit. Josh Holloway is old for Gambit now.

Josh could still work for Gambit....but I believe that ship has sailed, he had the opportunity and passed on it....and anyone that says hes too old look at the cast of avengers they were almost all 40+

A possible french option would be Gaspard Ulliel.

But I'm not too familiar with his acting abilities to pursue this idea whole-heartedly.
