I really wish they had done the movie on Penguin trying to take over the remnants of the Mob. That right there would have been a better movie...

Or a Catwoman un-suiting sequence.

The severe lack of Batman.
The fact that Gothanm didn't look like Gotham from BB.

Also lmao @ Jphn Blake. I was wondering the same thing. It was just such an unnecessary character imo....I didn't like him at all. He was a little too forced into the story.

I have to agree. There are long stretches where Bruce/Batman is a side character in his own film and its the Blake show. I'm not really comping at the bit to see him deliver gas bottles, investigate cement trucks, or Gordon visiting Foley's house, etc any time soon. They needed to trim that stuff and dialogue and focus more on Bruce and characters like Catwoman.

I don't like that there was no caption in the end that Bruce is alive or the camera didn't pan to Bale saying that he's alive and Alfred was not dreaming. Having that would've spared me the countless times I have to argue that the end was real and Alfred was not dreaming.

I'd take it a step further and if I could, I'd cut John Blake out entirely. |

Same here. I was just thinking how problematic this character is.

Sounds a lot like America recovering from 9/11 to me, which I think is what the world needs to see at this point. A sense of hope. And I did mean Metropolis because Superman had to fly him out of the bomb radius. No way you could swim away, even from that distance if he ejected lol |

The lack of a costumed Batman for long stretches of the film does become harder to take on repeat viewings.
Listen, I love this trilogy and appreciate Nolan bringing the character back from the dead after Shumacher basically destroyed him. BUT, I also can't wait to see a Batman film series with the tone a cross between Arkham Asylum and Batman: The Animated series. The dark, serious, gothic atmosphere with sci-fi elements and villains such as Man-Bat, Clayface, Mr. Freeze, crazier gadgets, Batman being the world's greatest detective. I want all that in the next series, I want a Batman that can be part of a future Justice League film. Last edited by 3-D; 08-04-2012 at 04:46 AM. |

Blake was in this waaay to much they pretty much shoved the character down our throats hoping we would like him. I know they were trying to set a future film but come on this is the last Batman movie with Nolan and co. focus on the current character and not a future one. They could could have cut down JGL's screentime and given that to Tate so she could ACTUALLY have a impact on the movie since they seemed sooo eager to include her in this movie.

With a 115 page book on its history and a 30 minute special that Aired on the CW ,
WB went to a lot of trouble Promoting The Batmobile before this movie was released , Particularly the current version, The Tumbler . Both the special and the book Emphasized that The Batmobile was a character in its own right . Where was that character in this movie ? |

No way would I have cut Blake from the movie, but I would have possibly given him a different background and actions. Bruce giving him entry to the Batcave was unnecessary- I know what it was trying to say, but surely it negates the whole ending to the story. He should have stayed on the force like Gordon, and not been given the vigilante route. Why would Bruce wish that on anyone? Or am I way off here?
Foley should have been cut. Useless and banal character. And yes, we needed way more Batman. He's been gone for 8yrs, we get the anticipation of his return, and then there's just barely anything there. The second fight with Bane needed to be significantly longer, and showing Batman utilise a different tactic to defeat Bane. He just does the same stuff. Of course he managed to get the mask all screwed up, but there was no sense of tactics. Looked like luck. Another thing just entered my mind. Selina holding her own against Bane's Mercs on Dagget's penthouse. They were LOS, right? She should not have been able to handle herself with such ease there. Batman would have had to save her ass there. |
