The severe lack of Batman.

The fact that Gothanm didn't look like Gotham from BB.

1. Talia sleeps with Bruce Wayne AFTER she has everything she needed from him including his trust, she was supposedly motivated by hate
2. Bane again is just a two bit henchman
3. Bane's back story (one of the best for a villain) is given to Talia
4. The fact that Batman is retired for 8 years
5. The fact that Batman is retired for 8 years and a kid who is about 12 (or 4 in the days of Batman) cares about if he's coming back after 8 years, Batman retired because things were generally good, he's not Santa his exploits in crime-fighting would mean little to a kid who couldn't remember him
6. In 8 years Bruce doesn't heal up and is crippled, but then can in a couple of days and is strong enough to fight Bane
7. That John Blake figured out Bruce was Batman without any conceivable legitimacy
8. Bane having anything to do with The League of Shadows
9. That Catwoman drives a prototype motorcycle way beyond the level of a pro on her first outing on it.
10. That Bruce is so easily outwitted by literally every adversary in the movie, even John, 8 years doesn't mean you loss your smarts or strategic mind.

Not to mention the plot and the Villain's plans are incredibly contrived, there's more but I'll stop there.

I did like that Bruce basically sentences John Blake to death, leaving him the Bat cave, John was trained as a street cop not years in the league of shadows, years with monks and with gangs, no financial backing for gadgets, no Bruce training him since he was 9, probably no Alfred, he should be dead within the week if he decides to put on the cowl.

Did it entertain me, sure, but it's nowhere near as good as a lot of the reviews would have people believe.
I agree with virtually everything you wrote except Bane belonging to LOS. I was indifferent towards that, it was including Talia that was a bit of a retread imo.

Also lmao @ Jphn Blake. I was wondering the same thing. It was just such an unnecessary character imo....I didn't like him at all. He was a little too forced into the story.

I have to agree. There are long stretches where Bruce/Batman is a side character in his own film and its the Blake show. I'm not really comping at the bit to see him deliver gas bottles, investigate cement trucks, or Gordon visiting Foley's house, etc any time soon. They needed to trim that stuff and dialogue and focus more on Bruce and characters like Catwoman.

I don't like that there was no caption in the end that Bruce is alive or the camera didn't pan to Bale saying that he's alive and Alfred was not dreaming. Having that would've spared me the countless times I have to argue that the end was real and Alfred was not dreaming.

Agreed.

I'd take it a step further and if I could, I'd cut John Blake out entirely.

Same here. I was just thinking how problematic this character is.

What is this Gotham you speak of? Batman lived in a happy Metropolis until people started viciously attacking them from foreign countries. Then Batman rises from the ashes of defeat and does his best to stop it.

Sounds a lot like America recovering from 9/11 to me, which I think is what the world needs to see at this point. A sense of hope.

And I did mean Metropolis because Superman had to fly him out of the bomb radius. No way you could swim away, even from that distance if he ejected lol

The lack of a costumed Batman for long stretches of the film does become harder to take on repeat viewings.

Listen, I love this trilogy and appreciate Nolan bringing the character back from the dead after Shumacher basically destroyed him. BUT, I also can't wait to see a Batman film series with the tone a cross between Arkham Asylum and Batman: The Animated series. The dark, serious, gothic atmosphere with sci-fi elements and villains such as Man-Bat, Clayface, Mr. Freeze, crazier gadgets, Batman being the world's greatest detective. I want all that in the next series, I want a Batman that can be part of a future Justice League film.

I'd kill to have a universe in film just like BTAS, everything about that show was perfect. Thats the one thing I didn't like about the trilogy overall. It had restrictions to due realism, which is good because realism teaches a lot of morals. I just really hope no one aims to copy Nolan's styling of this universe because I honestly don't think I could set through the same thing twice

Blake was in this waaay to much they pretty much shoved the character down our throats hoping we would like him. I know they were trying to set a future film but come on this is the last Batman movie with Nolan and co. focus on the current character and not a future one. They could could have cut down JGL's screentime and given that to Tate so she could ACTUALLY have a impact on the movie since they seemed sooo eager to include her in this movie.

With a 115 page book on its history and a 30 minute special that Aired on the CW ,
WB went to a lot of trouble Promoting The Batmobile before this movie was released ,
Particularly the current version, The Tumbler .
Both the special and the book Emphasized that The Batmobile was a character in its own right .
Where was that character in this movie ?

No way would I have cut Blake from the movie, but I would have possibly given him a different background and actions. Bruce giving him entry to the Batcave was unnecessary- I know what it was trying to say, but surely it negates the whole ending to the story. He should have stayed on the force like Gordon, and not been given the vigilante route. Why would Bruce wish that on anyone? Or am I way off here?

Foley should have been cut. Useless and banal character. And yes, we needed way more Batman. He's been gone for 8yrs, we get the anticipation of his return, and then there's just barely anything there. The second fight with Bane needed to be significantly longer, and showing Batman utilise a different tactic to defeat Bane. He just does the same stuff. Of course he managed to get the mask all screwed up, but there was no sense of tactics. Looked like luck.

Another thing just entered my mind. Selina holding her own against Bane's Mercs on Dagget's penthouse. They were LOS, right? She should not have been able to handle herself with such ease there. Batman would have had to save her ass there.
