Heroes for Hire would be a fantastic way bring the MCU to the small screen. Powers that fit within a TV budget, buddy-cop type format, and serial-ized stories. They could do mystery-of-the-week shows that focus on more human criminals with seasonal arcs that involved more powerful supervillians. They could have cameos from SHIELD agents as well as other stree-level heroes. It really could fit exceptionally well into the MCU.

So, will the show star Eliza Dushku or Amy Acker? Or both?

yesssssssssss And no offense to Avengers, which was absolutely outstanding, but television is, of course, what Joss does best. Hope he knocks this out of the park, whatever aspect of the MCU(-TV) he chooses to develop.

So....we stand to gain a Del Toro Hulk TV show, *and* a Whedon TV show based in the MCU as well....? Damn, it's going to be a great time to watch network television again.

I came up with this idea after watching Ultimate Spider-Man, so don't trash it to bad.
Marvel Presents " The Avengers Initiative" After the events of Avengers little wannabee superheroes have been poppin up all over NYC. To handle this SHIELD hires Dennis Dunphy in the 80's a failed super-hero to teach them what not to do. The lineup of The Initiative would be. Luke Cage Jessica Jones Danny Rand (Iron Fist) Ava Ayala (White Tiger) Bobbi Morse (Mockingbird) Daisy Johnson and Tony Masters (Taskmaster) All throughout the season we see them learning how to use their powers. Learning to be a team and capturing a bunch of criminals who work for a mysterious guy named The Hood. So when it's time for their 1st official mission taking down the Hood. Taskmaster gets BLOWN UP taking out the Hood's HQ. (He doesn't we later learn that he's been a villain the whole time) Jasper Sitwell could also be on the show, plus other D-List characters could appear. |

But Whedon's involved, so it'll probably be Gina Torres and Dichen Lachman as Misty Knight and Colleen Wing. Maybe we'll get both? Do we know Whedon's level of involvement? Is he the showrunner or just a producer?

I doubt he'll showrun since it'll probably premiere Fall 2013 and he'll be knee-deep in Avengers 2 then.

well, the press release said he's developing the show so i'm guessing its his baby. I can't wait for more news on this. I'm betting its either the Runaways or Heroes for Hire

Yeah, probably doing notes and outlines on fringe comics probably isn't THAT time consuming.
I think Whedon will do OK, JJ Abrams produces 12 million shows along with being a big time movie director now.

With all the characters and stories and stuff that they could get out there Cloak and Dagger feels kind of... limited

I'd be alright with it, as long as it remains somewhat faithful to the film. It'd also HAVE to have the Avengers from the movie. You know, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, Captain America and stuff like that.

It can't involve any of the main heroes, it needs to be based around other characters. I would think that's the entire point of the show, to build the world and make it seem richer. Not dilute the big, expensive guys with a TV show starring other people as their characters

I still favor a SHIELD show, with lesser known superheroes periodically guest starring. It just has too great of potential to go anywhere they end up wanting to go, which is a good thing for the setting.

Sounds good, but I feel like the episodes without superheroes showing up would be "the boring ones." I guess I haven't read any Nick Fury/SHIELD comics myself.
