Oh, crap. He never gave off any symptoms. Probably hid it well a la Michael J. Fox.

Sad to hear about Hoskin's disease, but here's to appreciating a fine career of work and best wishes for him dealing with it moving forward.

I will always remember him for Who Framed Roger Rabbit. It's sad to see him leave.

He would have made an awesome Penguin. I remember one scene near the end of "Heart Condition" where he looks exactly like Danny Devito's Penguin when Penguin is about to die.

Sad to see him retire. Always enjoyed whenever he would show up in stuff throughout the years. He was awesome in Unleashed/Danny The Dog and also enjoyed seeing him in Snow White and The Huntsman.

Bob Hoskins was Chris Claremont's pick for Wolverine back in the late 70s when he and Stan Lee tried to sell the movie rights to James Cameron and his then wife Kathryn Bigelow.

Yeah that film is awesome.

One of the best Gangster movies ever made in my opinion.

Bob Hoskins and Helen Mirren plus Pierce Brosnan in his first acting role.

Hoskins was in some movies I enjoyed alot as a kid like Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Super Mario Brothers and Hook.

I know it's of less importance due to this, but we won't be getting Eddie Valiant back for a sequel now, unless they do a prequel or recast.

Such a shame. But he has had a great career with so many memorable movies. With the movies he's been in, Bob Hoskins will always be around for many years to come!

I wanted him to play The Penguin in Nolan's Batman films. Oh well.

Sad see him retire cos I like watching him act. I always remember him for Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

Does anyone remember his part as the repair guy in Brazil? I always think of that role when I think of him for some reason. His retirement doesn't affect me that much since I wasn't a huge fan or anything but his diagnosis saddens me. I wish him luck with his inevitable struggles.

Sad. Good actor.

At least he's in old age and had a long career first.

Why can't this happen to someone like Taylor Kitsch?

Or how about, no one at all. Cancer and disease suck
