HONEST Answers Only... Did You Cry? (SPOILERS)

months before the release, I told my gf: "baby, if you see me cry at TDKR, please don't laugh" haha, she was warned. the scenes that made me emotional or had some impact, either sadness or happiness but no tears:

- the Gordon speech, the way he says "the truth...the truth..." and you see flashbacks of Two-Face, man that was awesome, and makes me root for this guy who wants to tell the truth and be released from his burden.
- Batman vs the police. that scene is one of my favorite in all the trilogy, starting with him riding in the darkness.
- when Alfred tells Bruce about the letter and saying good bye.
- Bane vs Batman round 1. poor Bats. Bane's speech is great, also many people (myself included) were shocked of Bane getting all Batman's weapons when he blasted the ceiling.
- Bane speech in Black gate's Prison. man, that scene is awesome.
- Gordon speech to Blake, telling him why he did what he did.
- Bruce watching the TV while he's in bed. that scene is sad.
- Bruce out of the pit. that scene didn't strike me the first time, even not the second one. but after the third watch I felt inspired by it.
- Batman's return and the fire Bat-signal. this like the one before didn't strike me until second viewing, but I clearly remember a woman yelling when Batman appeared in my first viewing hahahaha.
- Batman vs Bane round 2.

Ok. now, the tears begun when Gordon voice over started. I mean, there are plenty of awesome scenes in this ending, that you progressively begin to lose it hahaha. by the time it finish, I was full on miss America. I remember my gf turning to me when the lights went on and said "you are crying!" and I was like "I told ya".

Talias acting was horrendous in this movie and I felt no sympathy for either of those crazy nuts.

First time I saw TDKR, when Bruce finally makes the jump, oh yeah, man tears. Just a great moment right there.

I got pretty misty eyed both times during all of Alfred's scenes.

Why? They might have had feelings like most humans, but that dosen't give them an excuse for being terrible people. I don't deal or feel bad for terrorists especially ones that try to kill my hero and his city.

Bruce climbing out of the pit and the epilogue for me (seeing Wayne Manor converted to an orphanage). Loved that. And the cafe ending. Especially since Bruce and Selina were not eating shawarma

Funny thing is it didn't sink in until subsequent viewings. Was a bit shell shocked the first time

I did not cry but I was very sad. I got the same sad feeling inside of me when my favorite television series came to their ends (Friends, the O.C., Lost). The feeling was actually worse. There has been a small sad feeling inside of me for a couple of weeks now since I know the trilogy is over.

"Alfred losing it at Bruce's Funeral" and "Batman revealing to Gordon that he was Bruce Wayne the whole time" got me the most.

My eyes welled up at most of the Alfred parts:
- Bruce and Alfred bust up
- Bruce's funeral
- the final cafe scene.

I think Michael Caine has been a great Alfred and was a bit disappointed he wasn't in TDKR so much.

I'm a very emotional person, so I cry during beautiful moments in film all the time. I just sink into the characters and their feelings and what's going on, so I fully expected to cry during this film; especially as Nolan has such a talent for condensing pure emotion into his films.

So for me, it starts as you realize what Batman's going to do. The instant he replies "No autopilot.", I start crying. And for basically the rest of the film I'm a quivering, shaking, crying mass of human being as I'm just being pounded by all of these bittersweet or beautiful or sad moments.
Especially the first time, as I didn't know how the ending would actually play out, and I was convinced Bruce really was going to die, the credits are rolling and I'm just sitting there, shaking.

P.S. And I too was very struck and appreciative of the bond between Talia and Bane, and the fact that all of this is basically for her. He could go anywhere, be anything, do anything, but he chose to help her in her quest for vengeance and he does all of these things for her. It was very beautiful when she says goodbye to him and he's crying. Bane was such a deep character, possessing both amazing strength and will, but also complex emotions and thought.

No you are wrong, while her death was pretty bad acting, everything else she did was great.

Her best scene was the exchange with Daggett at the Ball, but beyond that, everything else she said was mumbled and I could actually understand Bane more than her. She was better in Inception. She was underwhelming in TDKR. [imo]

Yeah her acting was good for the most part, but I still see no reason for having sympathy for those people base on what they did. That's like rooting for Osama and all those crazy people during 9/11. Expect they were trying to blow up a city filled with innocent people.

Agree for the most part. Marion is a great actress and she was very good for the most part, but if I had to pick a weak link out of the lead cast it would be her. She was still really good for the most part, but she definitely made a better villain in Inception. Of course her character was more likeble in that movie than this one.

Scenes that made me come close to having tears rolling up in my eyes:

• I guess just that whole period in between the time after Alfred left Bruce till right before his intimate moment with Miranda. I mean Bruce’s life was slowly coming crashing down on him. And for the first time, I really got a sense of how lonely and miserable Bruce was.

• Alfred’s departure; I thought this was executed so much better and brilliantly performed by Michael and Christian than the scene of Bruce’s parents dying.

• Ending Montage; Bruce finally found his closure and John Blake found his calling.

Alfred's cafe fantasy speech at the beginning made me teary.

The second time I saw it, I started getting choked up at the end at the build up and then when we see Alfred at the cafe with the drums playing I lost it. It was so perfect and emotional, oh jeez I'm tearing up just thinking about it.

My first viewing I was just trying to take it all in. The last 5 minutes of the movie consisted of my jaw hanging from my mouth as I was just numb at this point from the shock of it all. Every viewing though since I tear up at the flashbacks of young Talia trying to escape the pit. Just the idea of a young innocent child in such a hell and how honestly all of these characters (Batman, Bane, Talia) have had such awful things happen to them that truly destroyed any chance of innocence or a normal life.

I saw it last weekend with my mom and seeing it with her was emotional for me. She's the reason I'm a fan at all let alone as big a fan as I am. It meant a lot for her to be their for the finale of the journey with me. I broke down crying when I saw it with her when Batman tells Gordon about being a hero and the quick flashback to that awful night thirty years ago. Now I also tear up when they reveal Black's real name because I was holding my moms hand at this point and when they said it she lightly tugged my hand and I could hear her happily react.

Every scene with Alfred was very tear jerking for me.

I didn't cry during the movie, but some parts touched me pretty hard;

Alfred's departure, and even more during his speech later on in front of the Wayne family's tombstones.

Bruce Wayne revealing to Gordon he is Batman. I absolutely didn't expect that flashback, neither did I expect that revelation at all. I thought he might keep the mystery even to Gordon, so maybe one of the last few good cops in town still have the same feeling about Batman's legacy than the rest of Gotham did. But telling him that way, comparing Gordon to the legend that was Batman by telling him that giving young Bruce his coat just to try and give him a little cheers was like being Batman, and knowing this might have been the moment Bruce started to appreciate Gordon, that was beautiful. I bet no one saw this reference coming in the movie. It was so undermined in BB, just a normal cop thing that cops do in the movies, giving their coat to sympathize.

I said it before, and I say it again ; Nice one, Nolan !

I began tearing up when Alfred confronted Bruce in the Batcave in the beginning of the movie. The speech about him not wanting Bruce to come back to Gotham, and all that stuff following it. I'm such a sap.
