I still don't like Ramos' work. It's a poor fit for Spidey, or any realistic book in general.

I don't have anything to say on the art front, haven't read nearly enough comics of late to use as reference but Ramos seems okay to me.

As for the overall quality of the book, seems like Spider-man is in good hands at the moment. I just recently picked up and read the Ends of the Earth arc so far and have to say that I quite enjoyed it. Seems like a far cry from the dark and broody spider-man of my 90's youth, Peter seems mostly carefree these days and that can't be a bad thing.

I think one of the posters before me may be right though, it seems that this arc is leading towards Peter leaving Horizon. Perhaps I jumped back in at just the right time.

So IGN gave the last issue of EOTE a really bad score. Is it really bad like they say, or should I get it? I have all of them except for the last two.

Well it's over... pretty good story over all... the art stunk a few times but I enjoyed it mostly... maybe even better than Spider Island... tho Spider Island had the better ending.... hard to see how the Rhino & Silvet Sable survived.... but these are comics... lol

I'd give the story a B +

I thought it was kinda boring. Just like all of Dan Slott's stories.

It just feels like one long toy advert that puts Spider-Man in a context he doesn't belong in.

We need Spider-Man brought back...down to OUR level.

I enjoyed it, but hope the global-adventures will be retired for a while. It was nice to deviate from tradition, but I'm looking forward to more NYC based adventures.

I loved this story! A great follow-up to Spider Island! Loved the plot, loved all the art, loved the re-vamped Sinister Six, loved the Avengers & Horizon's role, and really loved the Spidey's Angels angle! Great, Dan, as much as I'm mad about the marriage thing, if Pete must be single, you really set-up a really interesting relationship between him and Silver Sable that I wouldn't mind seeing explored!

So what did you do? Kill off Sable! That was the only real bummer about the story.

But, then again, you never showed the body...

Yes, that's a strong hint that Sable (and Rhino) are still kicking around.

And speaking of epilogues, wasn't a certain redhead planning a little celebration for a certain webhead...?

I read EotE, and even though I liked it, I didn't feel Spider-Man in it at all. I mean, he was there, and his rouges gallery of classic villains was there, and classic buddies like Sable were there... But his soul wasn't there. I am sick and tired of this Avenger Spider. I want a teenage kid from Forest Hills. I don't want James Bond.

I want the Peter Parker that WAS a kid who has Grown, Matured and become wiser and smater, mature but fun. A Peter who really learns from his mistakes.
Last we saw that was in the late 1990's.

EVERYTHING since the re-boot has felt off.

I really loved 3/4th's of End of the Earth.

I felt it started off strong, made Spidey seem like the hero that he was, greatly used the Sinister Six and Doc Ock to their full potential. Had some great twists and turns, but my three problems with it where only...

1) The ending.
2) Spider suit. I just couldn't get past him needing that suit still after the beach battle.
3) Using Black Widow. She seemed like she was put in cause of Avenger film and Silver Sable i had no problem with, just thought that Widow really didn't add as much as I thought she could of.

Well, I enjoyed Ends of the Earth, for the most part. It honestly felt like a pale imitation of Spider-Island to me. Kind of like a sequel...BIGGER....LOUDER....MORE EXPLOSIONS.....and a little less heart.

Not that I didn't like it, just that it wasn't as good as I felt it could have been.

I liked the sub-text... Doc Ock's "Master Plan"... it's underwater... the whole story was just a great homage to ASM #32 & 33... and I dug it for that alone...

Based on this week's ASM, Sable may not be dead after all. Hooray!

I sometimes feel that I am the only one that likes Ramos. He is honestly my favorite Spidey artist, at least on the non costumed characters. Romita Jr. Does my favorite Spidey costume... But I hate the way he draws faces.

Takes all types I guess.

No, you're not alone. I love Ramos's stuff, I love the style. It's just very stylized and not to everyone's taste. I also love Romita Jr's style and wouldn't mind seeing him rotate in Amazing. I think Romita Jr does my favorite set of Spider-Man eyes.

I think the stylized look is perfect for Spidey. Especially how much emotion he can convey in faces. It makes you feel more feels per panel.

Ramos has vastly improved since his days of working on the Spectacular Spider-Man. He has a far better sense of proportion and variety than he did in those days. Now his stylized art comes off as visually arresting as opposed to visually confusing. He should teach Liefeld a thing or two about taking the time to refine his craft. Anyways, Ramos gets my approval.

Enjoyed the story overall, but I was hoping for a more epic ending for Doc Ock. He is still alive, but I was expecting his death.
