A modern Etta Candy would be best played as a Lieutenant that works with and helps Trevor+Diana, who has weight problems because of her love for candy. Her best stories will come when Priscella Rich (Cheetah) comes into the mix with an inferiority complex and Diana tries to figure out why a beautiful woman like Rich thinks she is ugly and is so insecure. Diana going to Etta for insight would further develop Etta's character. So in a tv season or movie based around Cheetah as the main villain, by the beginning Etta would still have some insecurities, and by the end of the season/movie she will have addressed her insecurities in a positive way and will have made steps to move forward from them.

The possibilities for strong Wonder Woman stories are endless, it's just you have these writers that didn't/don't understand women.
