Then, TDKR could have surpassed Inceptions collections overseas.
TDKR will be at 480-490m OS after this weekend. And will have already crossed 500m during the weekdays heading into next weekend. There is still Italy along with China and other small countries for TDKR to be released in.

The Expendables 2 has been pushed back to Sept. 17th China.

I don't quite see a "Justice League" movie taking such a massive box office haul, partly because it has already been beaten to the punch, and partly because there is a lot of indifference toward Aquaman, Green Lanters, Wonderwoman and their ilk.
Yes that is probably very true indeed, a JL would struggle with comparisons to Avengers and expectations, plus it has the problem that it needs to wait to see if the newly established Superman and eventual Batman, one assumes, are popular enough with fans to put into a JL film. Avengers had the added bonus of being able to include established characters of Thor,CA and Ironman that already had a fan base and come from existing successful franchises, JL has to wait a while for that at least.

Four weeks after the shooting at a midnight screening of "The Dark Knight Rises" in Colorado, 17% of moviegoers are still reluctant to head to theaters.

That's the finding of the most recent survey by consulting firm Screen Engine, which has been polling Americans each week since the shooting.

While the figure has declined slightly from 21% in the first week after the shooting, the still-significant number demonstrates that the after-effects of the movie theater massacre, in which 12 people died and 59 were injured, are still being felt.

That could help explain why several recent films had lower-than-expected openings, based on interest in pre-release surveys, including "The Bourne Legacy," "Total Recall" and "The Watch."

"In our experience, when there are major events that reach the national news level, it can take at least several weeks for things to get back to normal," said Screen Engine chief executive Kevin Goetz.

The surveys found that teenagers, particularly females, were most likely to be hesitant about going to movie theaters.

Late-night screenings may be particularly affected. Several people who closely follow box office returns noted it didn't become clear that some recent movies were underperforming until box office receipts from nighttime showings were counted.

JL might be even bigger than TA if they play their cards right. It's not about the making best movie (unfortunately depth & commercial success usually aren't on same team)

Batman alone making 1 billion dollars. Biggest selling name in comic books. Superman is first and most well known hero. It has own followers. Batman and Superman (or versus) is alone juggernaut. Flash and others would have smaller roles (witty characters etc.)

Add Wonderwoman (who is very powerful & sexy heroine) and put some love triangle everyone and their girlfriends would go crazy.

Last but not least, addition of Joker as main villain...

Avengers is just pure fun, is simple, well made and is unapologetic about it. The only reason I underestimated it at the box office is because most of the lead up films were nothing to write home about.

Avengers felt like Whedon was told to keep it plain and simple and if it does well you can go all out next time. Nothing wrong with that as it clearly worked I knew however the film would be something big. Maybe not as big as it was.

And that too, 17% of moviegoers still reluctant 4 weeks after the shooting, so imagine how many were reluctant the week it happened.

The Dark Knight Rises has now passed the $400 million mark domestically after taking $3.1 million yesterday and around $10.4 million for the weekend (giving it a total of $409.2 million).

No one is saying that the shooting didn't affect the film. The dispute you're having is over how much the shooting affected the film. Be careful how you proceed with this kind of talk.

And because there are some lousy movies opening. Like Bruce Malone said, Bourne was expected to open lower because it was a reboot without its main star, and it did. Total Recall and The Watch were savaged by critics and audiences didn't really like them.

I have no doubt that the tragedy in Colorado has had an affect on the box office, but it's not the sole reason these movies are underperforming.

$401,901,000

Glad to see it reaching over 400 million. It will no doubt crawl to $450 now. A fantastic total all things concerned.

If it's 17% after 4 weeks, what percentage do you think it was in the first weekend, first week, 2nd week, 3rd week?

$400m is huge so far and it's still on pace for $450m or so assuming it continues to hold about $30m ahead of pirates 2 as it has this whole time so far.
